I just don't understand why Collins isn't getting WAY ahead of this. Press Conference, taking interviews and unequivocally denying any involvement. He's either getting terrible advice or...he doesn't want to talk.
Yeah, this doesn't look good for him at all. He may be completely innocent, but his actions (or lack thereof) are not portraying it well.

to be fair and maybe unfair...

his attorney's No. 1 goal is to protect his client's freedom, not draft stock.

Because it is an investigation for MURDER. Taking a press conference would just be plain dumb IMO.

I don't mean where he gets asked questions. Just have him make a statement.

If he truly has no involvement, he needs to get ahead of this. Now.

If he has nothing to worry about, then they are one in the same.

this is what im thinking. One pretty important detail people seem to be forgetting...lets say IF for whatever reason, that like some people are suggesting he is apparently a closet sociopath who hired someone to murder her because he didn't want the baby...why would a guy who has approached football the last two years with absolute professionalism and cost benefit analysis, decide to do this RIGHT BEFORE THE DRAFT??? I just don't see it.

He's probably scared out of his mind right now because for whatever reason he's the only one the police have a viable motive for.

no, they are absolutely not. To say so is to believe our justice system never makes mistakes.

You don't think Collins' agent is getting way ahead of this and talking to all 32 teams, letting them know what's going on?

Public perception of him means nothing for his draft stock, so there really isn't any reason for him to talk publicly, especially in the midst of a murder investigation

wait a minute.... you're saying that if the guy actually murdered his pregnant girlfriend that the one thing you can't understand is why he did it right before the draft!?

that's just not true. Teams's knowledge of the situation is often a form of public perception.

His agent, lawyer, and/or La'el himself have talked to all 32 teams. There is no way they haven't.

I think he goes earlier than people think. There are so many smoke and mirrors on draft day, its one of the things that makes it so much fun.

No doubt, but until the cops officially clear him, that wouldn't matter to me if I were a GM.

The cops have come out and said he isn't a suspect they just want information about the girl.

Cops would say "possible suspect" If they actually thought there was a chance

NFL teams know what is going on. Some might be hoping he drops so they can get him but either way o guarantee he goes in the first.

Him staying at the draft proves this IMO. It means teams have told him and his agent they know he is not involved and will draft him.

That's simply not true. They don't have enough information either way.

Also not true. He's still in Chicago and will not be interviewed until after the draft.

i'm saying that if he actually planned out having someone else do it for him, as the current theory by some suggests, then why on earth would he plan it a few days before the draft?

I'm guessing that the reason the police aren't ready to meet with him and the reason he hasn't said anything publicly is that the child is his, which makes clearing him of wrongdoing a lot more complicated than merely obtaining his whereabouts at the time of the murder. Unfortunately for him, the child being his would give him motive whether he pulled the trigger or not.

because if he murdered a pregnant woman than he is a completely amoral sociopath and I wouldn't find it at all surprising that he might also suck at timing.

by the way I think it's highly unlikely he was involved, but there's just no way the cops aren't saying to themselves, if this baby is his, then he's got to be considered a person of interest at least.

Florio just said that he's undraftable and even not sign able. He guaranteed he would not be drafted tonight.
