I would imagine all teams that were seriously considering taking him in the first round have been gathering as much information as possible on the situation. Be it through his agent, lawyer, or Collins himself. It's arguable that they would know almost as much about his potential involvement as the police. This is a huge moment in his life. It doesn't benefit him to stonewall or be evasive towards teams if he truly has no connection at all.
If he has absolutely no connection with this thing whatsoever then, despite horrible timing, he should be able to satisfy any concerns (Even if that info doesn't leak to the public). While I doubt it happens, if he lasts until the 5th, 6th, 7th round, then I think we'll know that he potentially has a much greater connection with this thing than he just used to go out with the victim.
