Has he been evasive? I don't know, that's an honest question. I don't know how long the police have been seeking him...I've just heard about this like a day ago.

Do you really think police are going to speak with the Saints and jeopardize an investigation?

Actually yes, I have friends that are cops who have discusses cases with me. So the Saints who have much more pull and connections than me probably has access also.

Again the police have released a public statement saying he is not a suspect. Who knows what is being said in private. Of course no one is taking about tampering with a murder case - you would be correct. But to share that someone is NOT involved is not obstruction of any kind.

If I'm a team thinking of Collins I would have invested a lot of cash for a private investigation of this matter.

Not really sure what a PI can really come up with at this point. Police don't take kindly to anyone conducting a parallel investigation of a murder. Lastly, I don't know of any PI with balls enough to take on something like this.

The Saints want Beasley & are willing to trade up to 7. They will take Collins if he is there at 31.

so the 31st pick wouldn't be part of the trade up to #7?

Think about it. He left Chicago yesterday. The police interview is going to happen sometime today if it did not already happen last night. I really just don't see a murder for hire plot in this, and its a shame really to anyone who thinks that. I feel bad for the guy.

I don't think he goes undrafted. Someone at some point is going to grab him out of value alone.

If he slides to the late second or third, you take him believing it will blow over and you stole a first round talent.

I asked for specific details of the trade & was told no. I asked if we were giving up 31 & told "definitely not"

There's no way he goes undrafted.

All players from round 5 on are just crapshoots. Why would you leave a first round talent on the board when he hasn't even been named a suspect!?

If he's still there at 44, maybe even 31, he's protecting Drew's arse for the next 3 years for sure.

The statement reads that they want to speak to him to rule him out as a suspect. He's currently not a suspect. His suspect title is in pending mode if you will.

This other note is really eye popping. An article said she was found bleeding from her torso. Read into that what you will. Many tangents can be had from this. Collins immediately hires a prominent murder attorney upon being contacted about maybe some general questions bout his relationship (or lack there of supposedly) and maybe a paternity test. Smart. Of course... but i'd still say a bit alarming.

collins gets drafted no worse than 2nd round

Teams aren't going to waste a 2nd round pick on a player that potentially may not play a down in the NFL if found to be a suspect in this investigation. Remember guys Aaron Hernandez wasn't a suspect at first, but became a person of interest as the investigation went on.

The Saints have too many needs to fill than to waste an early pick on Collins. A team like the Patriots who's pretty set could spend a 3rd or 4th without hurting too much.

Its really not a good time in the NFL for an NFL team to jeopardize the headline of Team A drafts a possible/pending Murder suspect.

You forgot the "at this time".

The mere fact that Jim Boren (Collins' attorney) is using verbiage like "We've tried to rule him out as a suspect" and "We believe the police will rule him out as a suspect" tells me La'el is still a person of interest.

I am being told he is a person of interest based on a past relationship with the girl. VERY different from being a person of interest that was seen at the crime, forensic evidence, motive, etc If they had one of those - he would be a suspect.

um... what??? You do realize that murder for hire plots are not just something that's found in fiction novels, right? Just ask Ronnie Lamarque.
