la'el is keeping his cards very tight thus far less than 48 hours before he was previously set to become a multi millionaire. Something stinks, but this is me with no information just speculating on something that has a lot of unknowns.
I would think he would have set up a news conference, with very credible witnesses, standing beside him, along with family and friends, Teammates for support. Then he would prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that he could not have had anything to do with this crime, and have people basically prove where he was at the time, and that he has no problems, or involvement with the victim.
Unless he was advised not to do this, or he simply doesn't have the proof.

Answer: Someone loses his job.
Answer: You run PR repair about how the "murderer" lied to you and you believe in innocent until proven guilty, from all coaches great kid etc...
As a fan i would certainly understand the gamble. I mean really all picks are gambles but especially everything after the third round. Swing for the fences and hope for the big payoff.

Mychal Kendricks? Muhammad Wilkerson?

There are so many things wrong with this statement.
First, holding a news conference with friends and family doesn't prove anything...and certainly doesn't prove anything "beyond a shadow of a doubt". It proves that you can get family and friends to stand up before a camera and throw out the familiar "he's a good person" and "he's not the type of person who would do this sort of thing". This is a circumstantial evidence case and it will take a while to get close to any conclusions.
Secondly, holding a press conference puts Collins even further under the microscope. The public has become immune to the "I'm innocent" press conferences.

plus, anything he says can and will be used against him in a court of law. First thing the lawyer says is shut up... second thing he says is, any time you want to say something, remember the first thing I told you.

Notice the "Very credible witnesses" My point is, there is a chance he was with high profile people involved with football at the next level, maybe that is a reach, but if my alibi was air tight, this would be my move.
As I also said, maybe he has no proof, no airtight alibi.
Look if I'm innocent, I'm pulling out all of the stops, why not? I become the aggressive 1, this plays out my way. If I am completely innocent, and can prove it, then I'm on offense in this shite.

There are no "credible witnesses" at this point. If this is a "murder for hire" case, any witness is laying low...very low.

Lol, you are missing the point, He knows if he's innocent, and also knows if he can prove it.
Maybe he can't prove it, so he becomes tight lipped, and let his lawyer do all the talking.

I can see how that would seem contradictory but what I was told. Packaging the 5ths to move back up was 1 comment. Again I am against trading up to 7. Told him it was dumb. He said I am so wrong that they need a game changer on d & it is Beasley.

I wanted Nothing to do wth picking hkm BEFORE all this went down. Glad it happened (on a draft side of things. I'm very sad for the death :(. ), hopefully keeps us away. I'd be down if he fell really far (3rd?), but im not buying the hype on him cascading that far.

Adono, if the Saints trade up to 7 & slide down to 39 with the Bears - then give the Bears 75 & 148 it equals out on the draft chart FWIW. Thoughts? & the Saints would finish with 7 players.

I would take Collins at 31 or the second round.
Baring a pre draft confession doubt he would slide to the 3rd. Who knows. Going to be a entertaining draft the next 3 days.
you rog for changing the draft. Shakes old man fist.

What happens if Collins gets drafted in the third or later, but is cleared of all wrongdoing before he signs? Could he demand first round money?

There is only one criminal in all of this and it's between Collins and the BRPD. One of the two is a complete douche.
