I’d pay him that but 50% would be incentive based on availability. He plays he’s definitely worth it his numbers are better than wilsons and he plays a significant amount less snaps.

These small guys have to learn to avoid hits. A bad QB will shorten their career.

Most of Olaves concussions came from him hitting his head on the ground.

It’s not something that can be avoided.

I like to think even the Saints aren't dumb enough to pay Olave anywhere near that.

As is Garret Wilson

His injury history along with his aversion to effort is enough to say bye bye

That’s the thing. Wilson isn’t worth what he just got. Compare Olave stats to Wilson stats and they’re basically the same player. One has a concussion issue. I’m not paying a wr who can barely top 1100 yards 30+ million a year. The jets are dumb. With that being said, i hope they sign Olave to a long term deal if he stays healthy next year. I’d like for them to have an out in case due to his head injuries. Olave is a matchup nightmare for teams and my only issue with him is he can’t stay out of concussion protocol.

Can thank the Bengals for setting the standard when they gave Tee Higgins his deal. Doesn't matter if Wilson or Olave are better suited as #2s than they are #1s. They are currently their team's #1 WR and need to at least be paid more than Tee

Also why trade him when you just hired Moore and drafted Shough? Who the frick is Shough supposed to throw the ball to?

Now let's shift this line of thought and ask, why cut/trade Taysom* when you just hired Moore and drafted Shough? A running game and checkdown TE/receiver are crucial for a young QB; whether it's Shough or Rattler.

*Assuming that he would be able to return to the field at all this season.

I don’t look at it like that at all. I also think that’s an idiotic way to look at it. Wilson and Olave are the only receivers on their team worth a crap. Higgins is having 1000 yard season competing for catches with the best receiver in football. Wilson just had Rodgers (granted he isn’t what he once was) and barely is topping 1100 yards. Olave is also barely fracking 11-1200 yards. That isn’t worth 30+ mill. I will say they’re paying these guys for what they think they will be but, it doesn’t mean that Wilson was just given a laughable contract. That is insane for what he has done so far. Wilson isn’t a top 5 wr, barely top 10 if that and is being paid like the 4th best wr in football.

Why does this set the floor for Olave? I’m pretty sure Garrett Wilson is better than Chris Olave.

The fact that they’re both from tOSU and both entered the league the same year doesn’t mean a damn thing.

They’re basically the same player. Go look at their statistics. Basically identical. The difference is one has some concussions and missed time and the other hasn’t.

Wow I'm so glad you threw me this softball. Taysom Hill is not a legitimate TE or receiving option. He averages less than 1 reception per game over his entire career. He's averaging 9 rec yards per game over his entire career. He's averaging 134 receiving yards per season over his career. He's had 11 receiving touchdowns in 7 years. So yes Olave has more yard in his rookie season than Taysom has in his entire 7 year career.

Now his rushing production is more significant 2437 yds, 33 Tds in 7 years. But still to put that in perspective its 23 rushing yards per game. He's a big play guy he's not a big production guy. He's not a guy that will help a young qb develop, hes a player that needs the wildcat and other specifically designed schemes to make him useful. He's a crutch for an offense and hes very useful in the redzone and short yardage situations.

Man going through Taysom's production numbers really makes you wonder why hes so popular and why we gave him that $40 million dollar extension

You may think it's an idiotic way to look at it, but when you see the way these contracts come across each offseason; you have to realize that this is a major factor when teams have to sign their top players. How else do you explain 2nd & 3rd tier guys suddenly becoming the one of the highest paid players at their respective positions each season. If you did not take into consideration what other players are getting paid, and their role with the team & league; Mahomes' contract would not be the 15th highest amongst QBs. Tee is not the 9th (soon to be 10th) highest paid WR and his team had to make sure he was paid higher than Waddle

Olave is not Garrett Wilson or Tee Higgins.

He isn't in this market of player.

Oh I’m not disagreeing. I just think it’s idiotic. And in the end you end up overpaying for a player like Wilson or Olave.

I don’t understand this thought process. Explain to me please. Other than concussions, what has Wilson done that Olave hasn’t? Their stat lines are literally the same.

Olave ypg 65
Wilson Ypg 63

you post a YPG stat to compare the two?

Wilson hasn't missed a game in his career.
