I mentioned that he was making another Saints video when somebody posted the Lattimore film room for the 2nd time this week.

Well here it is. Worth watching.

Youtube video.

They really are the prototypical super bowl team this year. I think the one thing that’s overstated in this video is that this team is almost exactly like our 2009 team. I agree there are some similarities, but our 2009 defense was designed around turnovers. This defense is just plain stingy and I love it.

I do agree with the similarities in the OLines between the two teams. Health will always be the key with their success though, not a ton of redundancy if we lose another link in that chain.

Completely agree. 2009 was a very opportunistic defense that lived by “bend but don’t break” often. This defense has just been flat out shutting people down. They’ve been opportunistic, as well, but they aren’t relying solely on takeaways.

Stingy defense is more consistent than a highly opportunistic one.

Mix of both though and we can do what Seattle did in 2013

Really enjoyed that. Finally had time to sit down and watch it on my lunch break. That guy does a really good job. He'll have a successful channel if he keeps that up.

As long as we stay healthy, I don't see us having trouble getting leads and keeping leads late like we've had trouble with in the past. Our OL is beasting

Through 9 games in 2009 our defense had:
allowed 183 points (20.3 points per game)
gave up 3087 yards (343 yards per game)
2049 passing yards (227.7 ypg)
1038 rushing yards (115.3 ypg)
Forced 25 Turnovers (2.7 per game)
7 defensive TDs

Through 9 games in 2017 our defense has:
allowed 151 points (16.7 ppg)
allowed 2811 yards (312.3 ypg)
1813 passing yards (201.4 ypg)
998 rushing yards (110.9 ypg)
Forced 13 Turnovers (1.4 per game)
3 Defensive TDs

So yeah, this defense is better even with that atrocious play in the first 2 weeks except that 2009 team was insane in the amount of turnovers they forced.

Nice stats, love to read stuff like this.

Rapist was raping that year, including turnovers.

As a former (horrible, small, and slow) O-Lineman, that's some pretty film.

I could watch film analysis of our suffocating o line/run game and precise play calling all day.

I so want snead to get full go, this team would be able to convert 3rd downs and teams truly would be screwed.

To anyone claiming Ingram is just doing good because of the line, they should watch this. Both the line AND Ingram (and Kamara) are playing at a high level.
