I've always had the same opinion of Coughlin. Way more mediocre years than great ones. He's way way overrated.

What if he's the best we can get? Rough ownership situation, aging QB, total defensive rebuild, terrible cap situation, probably unrealistic fan base... What coach who could do better wants any part of that?

You take a risk and get a young bright Coordinator. Not an OL coach retread.

Ruin a bright young coordinator and make him a retread for another team in 3 years.

Similar situation a decade ago

And some of you need to look at the cap in 2017

That's fine. But you take the risk not a bum like Marrone.

Right and we knocked it out of the park a decade ago... What are the chances we nail it twice?

Chances are great.

Or we take the chance and hire...Chip. Just to see the world burn.

The Doug Marrone rumors
Why do you people piss your pants every time a talking head spouts off self-admitted speculation? I don't understand where the disconnect is between fact and imaginary sentences created for the sole purpose of getting hits.

Then you don't let Payton go. Pretty simple

He went 9-7 in his last year at Buffalo, I want to keep Payton at all costs but that's about as good as it gets for the Bills.

To be fair, what is Coughlin's % of making it to the playoffs as a head coach vs Payton's? I want to keep Payton, but if you're calling a coach overrated for having "mediocre" seasons then you probably shouldn't be singing Payton's praises by that logic

He was a huge help to Payton in 2006 turn this team around. He took the bills to 9-7...and a winning season with Emanuel as QB.

He's worthy of the job. Loomis knows and trusts him. I'm sure Brees is fine with him, and that matters in his restructure. Although, I think the staff should be completely cleaned out if Payton leaves.
