1. Hired Allen and Pete Carmichael after that rinky dink coaching search.

2. The way overpayment on the Carr signing and contract. Who were we bidding against? He should have been paid around 25-27 at most.

3. Love him, but the Cam Jordan contract extension is looking horrendous. 14 a year for the next two years for a 34 year old. Very few players outside of QBs hold up in the league in their mid 30’s.

4. The Juwan Johnson extension. 6 million a year over the next two years. Not sure we would even offer him an extension after the year he’s having.

5. The Trevor Penning pick. Landon Young, a 7th rounder, has been getting into games before him. Don’t have to elaborate much more. Hopefully they move him to left guard in the off-season and we can salvage something out of him.

6. The Olave trade. Olave has been pretty disappointing this year. I never liked giving up what we did for him. If we had drafted him with the Penning pick instead it would have been fine. He just looks like an elite version of Lance moore to me. A good player but not a game changer.
Anyway, players taken with our picks given up include the likely DPOY Jalen Carter, starting rb1 Brian Robinson, starting Qb Sam Howell who has been better than Carr this year, and what will be a high #2 pick with the way things are going.
A total disaster of a trade that has set us back years.

7. Picking Fosky over what I said was the best talent by far on the board in the draft threads, Brian Branch. He’s currently 4th in odds to win DPOY. Really big miss since he woukd have filled in the slot right now and could have allowed us to trade Lattimore in the off-season to clear our cap. Meanwhile Fosky can’t get on the field with us having to sign has beens off the street to get any kind of pass rush.

8. Drafting Miller over Achane. He’s been hurt but was putting up top 3 numbers in the entire league when healthy. Better numbers than Gibbs and Robinson. Another pick I disagreed with during the draft.,

These are the main reasons we are a middling team with no direction currently. Loomis should be held accountable.

Jonathan Sullivan. He should have been fired years ago with Haslett.

the whole thing needs flushed but its just not happening, dude is way too entrenched, so unless he just decides to give up his power and retire its all useless bitching

Best case is he somehow nails the replacement of Allen and we lose enough to draft a QB worth a damn

Why are we sure Penning is a bust?

This is the same coaching staff that picked Grupe and Hedley over Lutz and Gillikin for seemingly no reason.

Haslett called the shots back then.

The case for Loomis is that he we let him go I guarantee you he will have a job at a more prestigious franchise within 2 weeks. He's very highly regarded.

Allen was groomed to take over for CSP. Carmichael was Allens choice. Loomis was right for sticking to the plan when CSP quit. Having said that, it hasn't worked. Time to move on.

Yea. 100% on Loomis and Khai Harley because contracts are their game.

No way Cam was leaving NOLA. Team had to restructure him and others to get under the cap. They'll do another round of those this season including Carr.

Johnson's 2022 performance was worthy of this contract he just hasn't carried that production forward.

This is on D.A. and Jeff Ireland not Loomis.

Trading on draft day is what Loomis does (I'm sure with input from D.A. and Ireland) Olave is going to be a very good WR in the league. The trade can be argued to death.

Again this falls on Ireland and his staff.

Ireland again, maybe D.A as well but the Saints already had Kamara and Williams and their offense is not even designed around the RB position. Either way Achane would be killed behind the Saints Oline. He certainly wouldn't have the success he's had in Miami.

Most of this doesn't fall on Loomis and I feel like he didn't just forget how to be a good GM. The cap needs to be fixed and they needs to move on from the mistake of DA but I don't expect them to. I expect they will give him another year to fix the problem because that's the type of organization the Saints are. Loomis will step away on his own time table but he's not leaving the Benson empire, even beyond Gayle's tenure.

I'd toss in Doug Marrone as well. Oline has declined significantly since he's been here.

Wouldn't go that far. New owner will want to bring in "their guy", but I doubt we are seeing a new owner for awhile.

Doesn't Ireland have as much impact on picks as Loomis?

My issue with Loomis is that I don't believe he'll ever just try to reset his money issue with punting the contracts down the line. At some point that is going to have to reset with a probable awful season or 2.

Here’s the only case you need against Loomis.

1. He’s a retard.

Case closed.

Olave is a pro bowler on a good team. He flashes it when given the opportunity. Not his fault he is in a bad offense.

Same with kendre miller. Switch the environments for he and achane, and kendre would be putting up big games in miami
