NFL football is on and I'm buzzing, so why not? Let's say you can rank your top 3...

1) Lawrence Taylor: top 3 defensive player of all time (LT/White/Sanders, IMO) and at a position of need
2) Reggie White: not sure that he'd play OLB and 3-4 DE's aren't as valuable, but too talented to say no to
3) Randy Moss: was torn between a great LT and him, but I think the greatest defense stretcher of all time will have a larger impact

Not worth its own thread, but Collinsworth basically just said that Ryan had a good defense going in Dallas before the injuries got ridiculous (not really a big secret).

I think we're OK at ILB, and it's definitely down the line in terms of importance position wise.

Legit. You don't think about current players when you're talking all time greats, but he really gives you what Moss does without any attitude, plus he's a bit more physical. I'd give the edge to Moss when it comes to throwing up a deep prayer into double coverage, though.

1. Jonathan Ogden - Tackle is our biggest question mark in my opinion.

2. JJ Watt - We need a monster on the defensive line and Watt gives us that.

3. Adrian Peterson - Imagine if Brees could turn around and hand off to AD. Championship for the next two to three years in my opinion.

Ronnie Lott to mentor Vaccaro, put them both in at safety with contact rules from the 80's and just watch the amount of drops the opposing receivers will have out of fear.

Was gonna say Lott, but with the modern contact rules, I'll choose a cb.
Woodson, Woodson, sanders, bailey, etc. anyone would help.

Hard for me not to say Barry Sanders.

He was unstoppable toward the end of his career. Having him in the backfield would make this offense even better than it is.

Who cares if you even have a defense at that point?

He played DE in the 3-4 in Philly. Was still a beast.

All the people adding WRs, I can't believe y'all are leaving off Jerry Rice. Dude was simply awesome at everything.

I'd have to go defense though. LT and Ronnie Lott are good ones. I'd have to consider Derrick Thomas and Rod Woodson too.

1. Willie MFin Roaf - History with Saints and one of the best tackles to ever play
2. Reggie White - Obvious defensive implications
3. Sweetness - Teams would not know what to do against the offense
