No team with a top 5 pick will give it for Payton. They will look to 2024 for compensation or later round picks.
The precedent was set with Gruden. (2) #1's, (2) #2's and 8mm. Yes, a team will give up 1 top 5 pick instead of multiple picks. Especially a team that does not need a QB and will be looking to trade down.

1.3 could be in play because they already have their QB
Though they only have 5 picks, they pick again at 34. Should they not trade any more picks this year to NO.
Keep in mind this was an 11-6 playoff team in 2021. They may think they are a coach away.
Houston on the other hand, needs 1.2 to draft a QB. That pick will also be important to drawing Payton if those talks pick up.

Arizona may be the exception. They are already committed to Kyler. They dont need a QB and giving him a coach that he can respect will go along way.
If Arizona wants to ruin that by not giving up a top pick which they really dont technically need than by all means. Any other position Arizona wants can be had in other rounds
This ^^
Add to that the there is a lot of smoke that CSP is interested in the Cardinals job and I can see this happening.
People saying no team will give a top 5 pick for CSP are wrong. Arizona can be a SB contender next season with the right coaching. Question is, is CSP the right coach? There's a lot of history to say the he could very well be and what team wouldn't trade 1 first round pick (No matter what spot) for a likely SB.

This could be why Loomis came out and said he won’t make a decision on Allen yet. If we dont get a top pick this draft let Allen continue to drive the tank and give the new coach in 24 more picks

If Sean likes Bryce Young, Will Levis or CJ Stroud, I don't see how the Texans aren't the perfect fit.

Send them Michael Thomas, Kamara for their 1.3 and 2nd in 2023

What about if we can unload Thomas for some picks. Then CSP for a 2nd rounder this year and 1st rounder next year? Can add more pieces now and plan to get get QB next year. If Allen stinks it up again then new coach can get new shiny QB. Of course the next year pick could turn out to be not as high as hoped. But just pondering possibilities in case the Rd1 pick this year hopes are too optimistic.
