taysom without brees

lets say brees is now gone for the sake of this discussion
the question is, can taysom do the same things without brees at QB? im not sure he can
sure they can call the plays, but with a different QB other then brees, you cant afford to do those taysom plays without brees to get the 1st down if the taysom play is a bust or gets negative yards
its my contention that brees was an insurance policy to allow payton to gamble on taysom gimmick play trying to bust some good yards with trickery, knowing full well brees can overcome a bad play and still get the 1st down and continue the drive without it hurting you
so would a post brees team negate the need to even have taysom here?
im not talking about taysom becoming a starting QB
im asking can taysom be the exact same thing he is now without brees there to cover up for any bad plays that result from those gimmick plays

No he cannot, Taysom is great at what he does no need to change that. We need to draft a QB at all costs

I say he is more successful without brees. Whether that means his is successful as a nfl qb remains to be seen.

Misunderstood.... definitely better with him than without and he will come relatively cheap no need to get rid of him either

i tend to agree with you but im thinking we may not be able to keep drives going without brees there to save our asses if the taysom play goes no where
but i do hope they resign taysom, just unsure about how he fits in the post brees era

Taysom can and should be our next QB. Time to let Drew walk and draft another QB also to develop .

Ah no. Won't let it go. I believe he and teddy can win. I see Taysom as the more explosive QB. I don't want to saddle the club to a geriatric QB and lose both our young QB's for the chance for us to see him play in the pro bowl.
