I already know the Saints are taking a QB in the draft this year. 100% verified. All I know about the target is they could use their 11th on a QB if their scouting process validates the use of one. Watson would be an underwhelming pick (IMO). Mahomes is the most likely candidate in the 1st, but again their scouting process has to validate he is worth the 11th pick. I don't think the 32nd will be on the table on draft day, still pretty sure it goes back to New England for Butler. Most likely scenario they go for a pass rusher at 11 and try to package the 42nd(?) pick with some other picks so they can still get him.
Are you saying they are very high on Mahomes or is that your opinion? I hope they do not trade up for him. Why do you know they will take a QB? Have they just taken the approach (i.e. NE and GB approach) that you take a QB every couple of years and see if you hit? I cannot imagine they are concerned short term about Brees.

I could see Josh Dobbs in the 3rd being a consideration.
Too early. Not sure he is there in 6th, but not worth a 3rd. Peterman possibly. Dobbs is more a late 4th to early 6th.

O/U of QBs taken in the 1st is set at 3.5

They start to get gobbled up and who knows what will happen

Dobbs is the type of kid who will never be a tier brees Brady Manning QB but if you put a badass team around him he has the leadership to win a lot of games. He'd be in the Dak tier

I actually believe this this year. Their willingness to let Drew go into his last contract year shows me they are preparing for the next generation.

Isn't this the 3rd time they have let Drew enter the season while under the last year of his contract? So, that debunks that "logic"

Are we still not banning people that use LaCanfora articles to start threads? I don't think he has gotten a single thing correct about the Saints.

I kind of wish my sauces weren't legit... Butler will be here, both sides want this to happen too much for him not to be.

i know i might get eaten alive for this but chad kelly might be available in one of the late rounds. the kid have some off the filed issues but he can play. i know not to many people here is not a fan but he can come cheap in a late round and if he surround his self around the right people he can be a very good QB one day.

If Mahomes or Trubisky or Watson is there at #32, go for it. I doubt that happens though. And I don't want to see us go QB at #11. There are some guys like Joshua Dobbs, Nathan Peterman, and Davis Webb who would be good risks in round 3 IMO.

Exactly. I posted the same thing and got downvoted a good bit. Not sure who the hell he thinks we're going to draft at 11 that's going to make THAT BIG of a difference. Even if you're being extraordinarily generous and saying a guy like Barnett equals his collegiate production that's not going to be the difference between 5-11 and a playoff team.

Using your logic though, how does drafting a guy who may not even see the field for 2-3 years at best help the team now?

It won't. That wasn't my argument. My argument was that he must think the team is going to be pretty bad this year if using the 11 on a qb will result in us being 5-11. No single defensive player short of a young LT or Reggie White is going to bring us from 5-11 to legitimacy. I wasn't advocating for a qb at the 11.

Watson, trubiasky, Mahomes, kizer. With two teams trading back into first to take the last two (whichever 2 it is)

Agreed.

Honestly, as bad as our defense was, there were at least 3 games last season where our special teams blew it and cost us the game.

Don't piss away ANY of our picks in the first 3 rounds on a QB.

We already wasted a 3rd rounder on Grayson.

Browns are spreading rumors they like NC QB Trubisky. This has to be a joke or Browns are the joke. Trubisky only started 1 year in College. Browns please select Trubisky so I can laugh so hard. If they do it will shake up the Top 10 picks and no telling who will fall in the Saints Lap.
