God, who the hell is the awful source that La Canfora has in the Saints FO? This guy is always putting out stupid shite about us and none of it ever sticks. I wonder if they're forcing him bad info, and if they are, why the hell does he still believe it?

I actually believe this this year. Their willingness to let Drew go into his last contract year shows me they are preparing for the next generation.

So he's just regurgitating what was said a month ago. Not news.

Payton is a god damn genius getting La Canfora to report this! Cleveland is gonna have to fork over there #1 pick in next years draft to switch spots with the Saints!

I don't mind a qb at 32 if there's good value there

I already know the Saints are taking a QB in the draft this year. 100% verified. All I know about the target is they could use their 11th on a QB if their scouting process validates the use of one. Watson would be an underwhelming pick (IMO).

Watson would be an underwhelming pick (IMO). Mahomes is the most likely candidate in the 1st, but again their scouting process has to validate he is worth the 11th pick. I don't think the 32nd will be on the table on draft day, still pretty sure it goes back to New England for Butler. Most likely scenario they go for a pass rusher at 11 and try to package the 42nd(?) pick with some other picks so they can still get him.

I hope we don't trade up for a QB

I'd rather trade up with later picks if it means we lock up the CB position with Butler and get an immediate impact pass rusher at 11. Again, I already know they are drafting a QB, a lot depends on the scouting process. They might find a hidden gem later in the draft that isn't projecting as a high pick.

The draft is too fluid to "know this".

Don't make the same mistake you did with Butler.

He's legit. He's had info that panned out in the past.

He was simply wrong on the timing of the Butler deal. Still could turn out to be right in the long run, but he thought it would be done by now. It happens.

I could see Patrick Mahomes at 32, and would be so-so OK with it.

But I think its really just another pre-draft smokescreen

The only QB I would pick would be Kelly from Ole Miss and with his baggage and injury you could probably get him as a steal later in draft and take your chances. If he could get his head on straight he is the only QB that can make plays out of nothing.

There is no one in the first round projection that I think will end up a franchise QB.

I could see Josh Dobbs in the 3rd being a consideration.
