I was pumped when I found a direct flight to Minnesota from Nola for $230. Then looked up Tickets to the game...$3100 the cheapest. That’s frickin crazy

And que the “it’s so much better watching the game in the comfort of my home” crowd (not saying you’re wrong, but who wouldn’t want to watch a saints Super Bowl in person)

like someone said, the cheapest price in the building is $3100...we sat plaza corner endzone.ish in Miami pretty close to the field for $2500 a pop in 2010.

You can a lot of times find better deals week of.

If the Steelers or Patriots or in it the price won't go down though.

Y'all realize those prices will tank after the Vikings lose right?

If they don't, it'll probably be the most expensive super bowl ever.

I'm sure it's come up before, but has a team ever played in their own stadium in the super bowl?

I'm just going to get in that Bud Lite line and make sure I keep my mouth shut.

If it’s Saints/Jags, you will be able to find some reasonably priced tickets.

but why would it inflate prices? I know you save on travel, lodging and food, but that makes you willing to double up on the ticket price? just seems weird

As the 2 seed, they've actually got a pretty good chance to make it. The price is only what it is if people will pay it, and it'd potentially be the hottest sports ticket in Minnesota sports history if they do make it.

You ever hear of the Rule of 72 in investing. That’s a 9% rate of return for 8 years. Yeah, it’s greater than inflation, but fairly average if you think of the NFL or Super Bowl as an investment that has appreciated over time.

Any increase in price beyond standard inflation is just reflecting the demand of the event. OP didn't link which prices he was talking about, but I'm assuming this is mostly secondary market stuff (stubhub, seatgeek) whose prices change damn near hourly.

No. But the 49ers played at Stanford in Super Bowl 19.
