Here's how I'd like to see the Winston story go:

Signed by a team in training camp when a starter goes down or holds out. Plays....throws a shite load of INTs again providing further evidence that he is a bust. Cut in off-season to never be signed again. Squanders all his money and lives in a 1974 double wide trailer in Hardee County Florida

The guy has talent and I don't even mind a gunslinger mentality, but he has a frick it I'll throw someone will catch it mentality. I tend to agree no coach would be able to break him from that.

Guy has talent Without a doubt and he is the best qb available in free agency right now. However that clip in the first post tells you everything you need to know about him.

Bunch of arm chair QB's here on TD think Saints should bring him in an experienced backup for Brees this season.

They don't realize he's a locker room cancer. Destroyer of team chemistry. With their line of thinking, hey after Brees retires the Saints should sign Winston and Antonio Brown.

Most of that shite is harmless college shite, but we’re still talking 6, 7 , 8 years ago? doesn’t that almost prove he’s turned his act around off the field, if anything? He’s doing a lot of philanthropy and work in the communities these days. Maybe he’s a case of turning his life around

Anyways he’s no less of a dumb frick than some of the guys on our team

The instigating the fight with Lattimore was just 3 years ago. So was his meltdown after the game with the Panthers. A Tiger doesn't change his stripes.

He's a gunslinger, but not of the same caliper as a Brett Favre.

I'd rather the Saints sign Cam Newton over Winston as a backup. At least he has taken a team to the Superbowl, and been a league MVP just 3 short years ago.

Favre is a 3 time NFL League MVP, a SB winner, appeared in 2 SB's, a man that if not for the Saints would have taken Minnesota the SB that year.

Comparing Winston to Favre is ASININE!

I don't see Cam Newton signing on to be a backup anywhere. His ego is too big for that, like you said he's a former league MVP.

now... he may have to considering teams medical staffs can't get as good a read on him with the covid19 issue going on.

I think Jameis would be a solid add if you were not gonna ask him to throw 30-35 times a game. If he ends up on a team with a solid run game I think he could stick since he has a trend of throwing a lot of INT's.

Once Drew Brees retires, who knows what will happen next he won't easy to replace. He's a legend.

I tend to agree. I look for Cam to wind up with the Chargers.

My goodness how the national media has skewed the image of Jameis as a person. I will not defend his turnovers nor is this post even about on the field. He has grown leaps and bounds as a person in the last 3 years. He is as a hard of a worker as they come, first guy in the building last guy to leave. His teammates loved him. Did they love his turnovers no but go look at interviews from just a few weeks ago with mike Evans or Chris Godwin that’ll tell you all you need to know about Jameis as a teammate and a man. I will not defend Jameis’s younger years but we all grew up at some point and he has.

Coming from your boy and your fans. Look at comments after article

Suh named David, Carl Nassib and Mike Evans. No Jameis.

“Definitely Lavonte had a huge emotional speech for us after the game, which really came from the heart from my opinion,” Suh said of David’s postgame rant. “And I think it’s important for guys to take that and internalize it and not just see it as something that was a negative aspect but take the good things out of it. Because I think when coaches are yelling at you, you always want to take the negative aspect of it versus finding the little nuggets when [they’re] speaking to you and how to understand and internalize those things and make them be positive.”

I trust Sean at picking our next QB. If he thinks Winston can be the guy then I'm all for it

I was a huge Jameis fan at FSU as he was there the years I was, but I hopped off that bandwagon right around when he told a middle school girl to basically shut up and let the men talk.

However, in terms of strictly on the field? Sign me up. It would allow Taysom to continue to be on the field with Brees and if Brees got hurt again this season who do you trust to continue a potential SB run? I’d certainly trust Jameis way more then Taysom. He looks to be in great shape now, can see (why he’s refused to wear contacts on the field is k), and more importantly he probably hasn’t played with an above average OL since he won the title in 2013 at FSU.

People forget Brees had a lot of Favre in him as well before Payton got him to settle it down some
