See if they still want Jameis...

Probably going to get overpaid quite a bit. Think they’re going to rebuild with the new qb whoever that may be and see what those other two guys can do.

Juju will get top 3-5 if not no.1 new WR money.
I like him but not that much.

Juju is a very good WR2 that’s going to get top WR1 money.

Pu-Pu Smith Schuster. About the only thing Antonio Brown got right this past season.

I think it's more likely we try to trade for him if the Steelers aren't in contention.

There are so many good WR in the league right now, not to mention how expensive they can be. Guys like MT13, Hopkins, Julio Jones, etc are worth the money, but why pay a guy like Odell, Ju-Ju, (I could name others), etc that want #1 money when there is usually a nice set of guys you could get for probably cheaper than that one guy who doesnt even dominate.

I mean he was pretty good when they didnt have a 3rd string QB and a terrible back up throwing to him. 2300 yards and 14 TDs his first 2 years in the league?

All while AB was there. Which was his initial claim that he’s not a #1 WR and won’t put those numbers up without him.

Bc playing 14 games with Devlin Hodges and mason Rudolph weren’t the cause of down numbers

Should we? Hell yeah.

DJ Moore just put up 1100 yrds and 4 tds catching passes from Kyle Allen and Will Grier
Nuk was putting up 1k seasons for years with scrubs throwing him the ball.
If you’re a number 1 WR, you need to elevate the backup QB and that ain’t JuJu. Great number 2, but i’d be wary of giving him a big contract to be my #1.

that’s not how this works
Deandre Hopkins has seen 150 targets a year, even with bad QBs at a career 60% rate you’re gonna put up numbers. Granted he’s one of the best WR in the game
What do you think is the difference in DJ Moore and Juju?
DJ Moore saw 135 targets last year
Juju played 12 games and saw 70 targets all year?
Juju’s per target numbers extrapolated over 135 targets?
81/1064/6 ... Moore 87/1175/4

I put JuJu in the really talented but not QB proof type good.

Targets are also a product of getting open or being able to win contested catches (thus giving the qb confidence to throw to you in tighter windows).
No AB meant teams could just clamp down on JuJu. He couldn't get open being the top guy and his targets dropped.
So yeah some of it was the qb play, but part of it was also him not being able to play like a top target.
True number ones get targets regardless of who the qb is because they consistently win and get open of catch the contested passes.
This is the same argument as with Cooks. He can and has put up 1,000 yard seasons, but not without help from both other receivers pulling coverage and good qb play. He's a great number 2 but not a number 1.
So in relevance to the Steelers decision, this is the route they should take if he's looking for $12+ mil per like Cooks was. It's the right call. You only pay guys like Thomas, Hopkins, Evans, and Julio that type of money.

No WR is truly QB proof though. Deandre Hopkins had 5 straight seasons of sub 60% catch rate. Simply receptions vs targets. If he’s playing with a Drew Brees he’s catching 78% of his targets like MT13, all of a sudden a 192 target season is yielding 150 catches vs 111 receptions with Brandon weeden and hoyer
There are tiers, right, even within your top WRs. “WR1” is a pretty ambiguous label as it is. Juju’s a slot guy, there are some who would say a slot guy can’t be a WR1. And most of them do need another guy to get open. Kupp needed outside help, could chris Godwin put up numbers without evans
I think Juju is similar to a Lockett kinda guy

You’re such a blowhard who do you think you’re lecturing? I never said losing AB didn’t matter nor did I say that he should be paid top dollar
The Steelers passed the ball the 2nd most in the NFL in 2018 at 68%. In 2019 they passed 10% less, or 179 less pass attempts and targets. You need volume to put up numbers. The volume wasn’t there

And there’s an even smaller chance the Saints pay 2 WR top dollar at the same time.
