The fan in me is going to give him a chance. My issue is we looked way better when Carr was in there even without Olave/Shaheed.

Well yea, Carr was a competent veteran. Ratt was a rookie.

Him being a rookie doesn’t matter, the Brock Purdys of the world exist. It’s how drastic the drop off was is the issue.

Are you saying the team around Purdy was equal to the team around Rattler? Purdy, as a rookie, would have looked just as bad if he played for the Saints last season.

the Sirius XM Radio NFL tour was in New Orleans today.

Guests were Mickey Loomis, Kellen Moore, Rattler, Shough, Haener, Kamara, and Cam Jordan.

they haven't uploaded the full clips on their site yet but I'll try and pick through it tomorrow. Heard Cam's interview he sounds like a guy who is a media guy in waiting

he did mention that he didn't care for OTA's but understands building team comradery and developing trust with teammates. Says that otherwise he'd be out training on his own during that time.

But was glad to have the pads back on now.

No

Purdy is a much better qb mentally. He has the game figured out. It’s hard to predict 100%. Nobody really saw it coming. Very few QBs end up being able to do what he can do.

It’s strictly a comparison of one guy to another. So Carr to Rattler. Purdy to Garrapolo. Maye to Brissett last year.

And yes there are reverse examples to what I have above like Rodgers to Love his rookie year.

Might want to start getting the paper bags ready.

Yep. Rattler is terrible. Not sure why some fans are confident in a QB like him who hasn’t been able to win a single game at the NFL level.

All of this talk about tanking for a guy who has yet to even start a Pool season of college football. Some of you people are fricking ridiculous and sound like complete idiots.

Troy Aikman went 0-11 as a starter with 9 tds and 18 interceptions.

Age yes, draft capital

A 2nd rounder is hardly sunk cost on a qb.

I don't think people are saying Rattler is the best QB compared to ALL NFL QBs. I think they are saying he's the best of the limited options the Saints have

This is funny. Purdy got rave reviews from his head coach as a rookie in training camp. He knew right away he struck gold and woukd eventually start.

We not sure Rattler is even a competent backup yet.

It adds up when you been blowing other 2nd rounders in years past. Bunch of sunk costs = what we have now, sunk ship.

We passed on 1st round talents on the board for Shough.

Do you know what the sunk cost fallacy is?

I’m not saying the pick wasn’t a mistake, I’m not saying it doesn’t hurt to miss on 2nd rounders.

I’m saying that if another guy is playing better, a second rounder at qb isn’t enough of an investment to shoehorn him in if he’s inferior to the competition.
