Teams that Parcells has been around and in charge of haven't won a playoff game in something like 15 years.

ESPN scroll just said according to Parcells he has been approached on how to handle season, not about coaching it.

Take it however you want, I don't want a guy who hasn't exactly had much success in any capacity in 15 years.

did Dallas & Miami improve significantly after he took on roles with each team?

neither team had very good QBs either.

Dating back to his Jet days in the late 90's, that team improved significantly after he took over as well.

To say he hasn't had any success is ignorant. Very ignorant.

Sometimes it's acceptable.

Did Miami improve?

I mean, they were 1-15 before he got there, so obviously they improved.

All he did was put a band-aid on the team by adding Pennington.

The true test was the state he left the team in. They're basically one of the laughing stocks of the league the last couple of seasons, won like 4 or 5 games last year.

So, in 3 or so seasons in Miami, how did he do good when he left the franchise in a mess?

As for Dallas, they improved because they got a top 10 QB.

Neither Dallas or Miami won a playoff game. That's not very successful when you have 4 years or so to do it in a league that lesislates parity.

Miami won the AFC East under Parcells. That's nothing to turn your nose up at.

The producer who allowed those two to be on the same set needs to have bad things happen to him.

Seriously dude?

Drew Brees is on the team, remember?

Miami and Dallas never had anything close to that kind of offensive talent.

Again, by putting a temporary fix for one season in Pennington.

The state of the franchise he left was a 4 win team(or however many they won). How much improvement is that, turning a 10 win team to a 4 win team?

Just because we have Brees doesn't mean we should just settle for anyone.

All the shite you're spouting is irrelevant. He's being asked to serve in an custodial role, not to rebuild a franchise.

-in 1997, took over a Jets team that had went 10-38 the previous 3 years and went 29-19 over 3 years as HC/GM. He had 3 different QBs in 3 years. His QBs were Neil O"Donnel, Testaverde, and Ray Lucas/Rick Mirer.

-In 2003 he took over the Cowyboys, coming off 3 straight 5-11 seasons under Dave Campos and went 34-30 and made the playoff twice. His QBs were Quincy Carter, a 41 yr old Testaverde, outcast Drew Bledsoe, and 1st year starter Romo.

-He took over as VP of operations for the Dolphins, coming off a 1-15 season. The team went 25-23 in 3 years. 1 playoff apperance. His biggest knock may be that he never found them their franchise QB. The franchise definitely improved.

I don't think we'd be settling for Parcells.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

And left the team in a state of disarray. They did not improve by much. Again, they obviously imrpoved, they were 1-15. You build a franchise for the future, he left them with shite, a shitty 4 win team. Great job Parcells, that's what we're hanging our hat on?

Let me put it this way, do you know who the Dolphins hired over Parcells? The guy making decisions for the Falcons. That dude whose name most of us probably don't even know has done 10 times better than Parcells.
