No matter who the coach is, Carmichael and Spags are going to run the Offense and Defense. Like someone said earlier, I think Parcells would be there just to babysit.
The Saints should just do celebrity head coaches every week. Maybe throw in a few raffles at Rouses or something. Winner gets to be head coach for the next game, pace the sidelines with a headset, but the mic is turned off so he doesn't frick shite up. Not like it would matter.

So just to play devil's advocate here(and maybe this was discussed earlier) there is no worry that a guy like Parcells comes in and doesn't want to give Carmichael and Spags the autonomy to run their respective units?
No one could see a problem with that?

ETA the other thing that gives me pause is his age. Guy is in his 70's. How much energy is left? Being a NFL head coach, even a interim/figurehead is a daunting task

I know Parcells is known to be a control freak with his QBs, but I'm sure if this is seriously being discussed between Payton and Parcells things like this are being talked about. Payton is smart enough to know that Carmichael and Brees are good enough to run the offense by the themselves and would make sure that Parcells understands that. I would hope so at least.

I just saw Goodell say can appeal it just now during his press conference on NFL network. He gets to make the final ruling though. i seriously doubt he will reduce it or do anything.

Parcells will be brought in only to do the entertaining post-game press conferences. That's his specialty.
