So now DA won’t even confirm that MT’s absence is due to turf toe? No timetable? WTF?

It’s time to just tell people what’s really going on. None of this makes any sense other than they know this injury is bullshite and they’re trying to avoid bad press or protect some sort of contractual detail. Not placing him on IR also doesn’t make sense unless there is a financial/service time issue. At what point is he in breach? The staff cannot be this stupid. They’re covering for some reason. It’s really getting ridiculous and it’s worthy of media scrutiny outside of NOLA.
Per Underhill Twitter: “DA says no timetable on Mike Thomas, but says he’ll play this season and he’s working hard to rehab. Asked if it was a turf tow injury, DA declined to get specific”

Is this his way of taking Payton's limited information on injuries to the next level? Would be curious to know if he was this cryptic in Oakland, or if this is something new.
The non-IR part is really strange, unless there is some nuance that would not allow him to be part of non-practice team activities as well. If he is truly injured, and the taking the younger WRs under his wing is legit; maybe they want to make sure he's still available everywhere but the practice field?
Just spit balling, and still holding out hope as he is not going anywhere for at least the next 8 months due to his contract.
Another optimistic viewpoint is he's being overly cautious because of how much worse his ankle got when he tried to play through that, with the approval of the medical team.
Pessimistic viewpoint, he needs surgery and is waiting until next July

None of this is any different than it was under payton. Obviously they didnt know how long it would take MT to heal

Sideshow Bob is milking this injury because he doesn't want to play. Dude has become a big problem we can't get rid of due to his contract.

I honestly don't think they can. I made a comment in another post about when has Loomis ever made a decision and took into consideration next year's cap. But, I don't think he can ignore the cap ramifications.
As it stands, MT is expected to have a cap hit of $28M next year. The way his contract is structured, they should easily be able to cut that by $8-10M. If they trade him now, his cap hit will be ~$25.5M and the team has to eat the entire hit next year, which they are currently between $50-60M over the cap depending on which numbers you believe.
If they trade him after 6/01 next year, they can reduce his cap hit in 2023 to just over $12M and push $13.6M into 2024. This would get them $16M closer to being in compliance; although, they need to get in compliance with the cap before 6/01; so more Loomis shenanigans.

MT, DA, Trade to Philly.
NOTHING BUT MASSIVE MISTAKES.
Whoever was involved in these decisions needs to be fired. Loomis and Lauscher. Purge these morons.

Dunno what kind of trade value an often hurt once great receiver has. We would be lucky to get a 6th with his massive contract and injury history. But one thing is for sure, loomis will frick it up

Anything can be restructured with 3 willing parties.

yes it will hurt, a lot, but at this point what choice do they have? he can play but he wont play.
i just want him traded to the jets or browns or someone like that so he never sees the playoffs again when he plays for his new team.
he has a giant yeast infected vagina, thats whats wrong with him. DA was reported to have begged him to stay and arranged that stupid contract to make him happy. now he is just going to sit back and get paid to do nothing.
the ONLY thing that will make him play is if we make the playoffs by some miracle so he can play the savior and hero to stroke his giant ego

Who would take a guy with this contract who has played a handful of games in two years?
