Nah, we are just in cap hell. He wanted to be paid like a safety. I’m not sure why we didn’t give him a shot at safety.

There are two sides to the coin and you have to trust the team to know which side is flipped.
I agree that we gave him away for almost nothing. In a perfect world I think I would have just gotten the 2022 year of service out of him and let him walk.

According to some reports that was already beginning to show up.
Now those that wanted him on the team may say, "Awe that's just the team making excuses for giving him away" but in reality, teams and coaching staffs want to win, NEED to win.
Mickey Loomis didn't just become a poor decision maker in a few months since CSP left. CDA isn't going to shoot himself in the foot in year one of a gig to make a personal statement if it's not absolutely what they think is best for the team. Despite all the loons saying "These guys are idiots they have no clue what they're doing.)
Did they make the best choice, only they can answer that and time will tell if it works out better to worse for the Saints. but fans are the last source to trust in these matters because they wear their feeling on their sleeves.
