I think you will hear news on the jameis situation monday.
He wants to be in nola for the simple fact he will be the starter.
I'm sure they are just going over contract numbers. The initial offer was probably low.

a hell of a lot cheaper than last week, for sure... and every GM in the league knows they have to get rid of him... add the fact that he's wasn't going to command a king's ransom anyway, and really he should be very affordable if you want him...
that being said, we should resign Winston... there's nothing worth trading for that makes your team that much better than what you can get by simply resigning Winston...

We took the weekend off, because we offered Jameis a team friendly deal last Thursday, which he declined. He wants to be the starter, and he wants starter pay for at least 3 years. Starter pay this year is going to be between 15-20 Million a year.

This year maybe, for the three years is what I'm not sure of. Sure, if he would take a two year deal for 35ish, I'd be down. I just don't want to commit to long term until we see what he can do for us without Payton and for a complete year.
