Yes, it's amazing that people allow civil liberties to exist...

Personally, I think that it should be left up to individual establishments to ban or permit smoking. The State needs to stay out of it, outside of taxing tobacco.

So what you're saying is that only low rent, broke arse, nasty smokers hangout in the upper decks?

10-4.

This has pretty much been true for years.

If you sit up at the top, peering through the cloud of smoke to see the game, is part of what you have to accept.

I told the police before kick off but all they did was stand 30 levels below and look up. This was no good since people just stand blocking the police view. I felt that if I made a bigger fuss about it that I would be risking my wife's and my safty. This was the biggest trash ball section of the stadium. The trash balls even showed me blood stains on the walls by the fire hose where they beat people up before. These people had nothing to lose and certainly didn't care about jail. They were as back wood as you could get.

Fine, my bad for changing the subject. And regarding secondhand smoke, I'm not going to start a debate about things that are obvious like terrorism, life on other planets and the fact that there is sand in the desert.

I'll just leave this here.

I don't smoke and I don't show up one day to a place I've never been and ask everyone to change to accommodate me.

It doesn't matter whether he's been there the entire length of the franchise or the first time ever. It's against the policy of the Dome to smoke inside. Period. People who smoke are in the wrong here. THEY are the ones who should change their "tradition".

So you're just a pussy then? If there's no smoking I'll make sure I'm accomidated. Again, the only reason this was an issue is b/c the guy didn't call security. fricking Dbags that can't go without their fix should watch from home.

+1000. Agree. It's not the governments (state, federal OR local) place to be the peoples daddy. It should be up to individual business to decide what to do. If the Dome bans smoking, people who do smoke should boycott until they change it. If there are not enough smokers to make the Dome change, then they are the minority and are stuck with the decision. Same thing for Bars, restaurants, movie theatres, etc.

I don't smoke, so I'll frequent the places that ban it and those places will either thrive or fail based on their decision. But it is in NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM the governments duty to dictate what it's citizens should do or not do.

Unless, of course, we have nationalized healthcare where others are expected to pay for a persons health problems caused by smoking. But that's for the Poli board.

Now I think you're full of shite. So, the cops just stood by. You think if you went down and told them they were smoking and offering to kick your arse they wouldn't have done anything? Please

Nope. You know the blood was probably from some emphysema ridden smoker coughing up his lung during a game.

Nasty bitches.

Why don't you read half those links which state that the data is inconclusive.

OK, Jaydeaux, I'm sure you're a real badass that would take on the entire section.

From what I've read it sounds like security has given up - it's sorta like prohibition - everyone up there smokes are doesn't give a frick so what are the cops going to do? Give you a call to come whip the sections arse?
