No. You really need to pay attention. It is unjust for the GOVERNMENT (local, state or fed) to pass laws banning smoking. It is up to private entities and businesses to allow or ban smoking. Once a bar bans it, that's it. Obey the rules of the establishment or the establishment will remove you from the premises.

Then, smokers have the right to boycott the venu/bar/business because they don't allow smoking. If the business cannot survive without smoker business, they will be forced to change the policy. That's how a society functions. If the business thrives because they banned smoking, too bad, so sad.

It is not the Gov'ts job to be the citizens daddy and tell them what they can and cannot do (so long as the personal liberties of others are not affected), but society will govern itself when it's allowed to do so.

Gotcha. I'm all for the business deciding what to do. However, that is not what happened here or in this state. The govt passed a law and forced business owners to enact that policy. If you own a restaurant, or a public place that is not a bar, then you are forced to abide by an unjust law the govt forced on you. Such as the Superdome.

So, like I said, civil disobedience.

So you're only morally superior when it affects you?

No. Now what does that have to do with this?

It's illegal. You can't turn a blind eye to crime.

We need you on the street, people are jay-walking, parking in no-parking areas and god only knows what other crimes. So get out there and wherever you see crime bust some heads are get local law enforcement involved because you don't want to be the one to turn a blind eye to crime! - OPB Mcgruff

I don't think you even know what you're talking about. I think you are operating under the misconception (shared by many other internet warriors) that the winner of a debate is the person who declares himself the winner first.

Spoken like a dude who has never had his arse whipped as an adult. Believe me, it's a visceral experience that will completely alter your perception of a given situation.

So you had to have your arse kicked as an adult to know that it's a visceral experience? I guess if you take on a section of drunk plant workers at a Saints game the point will be reiterated.

I thought I was reporting someone who was speeding. That person is the rule/law breaker. How is reporting the act morally superior?

So the fact that I'm not willing to citizens arrest a jaywalker invalidates my entire point? Wow. Don't hurt your back reaching that far.

Again, you seem to stray off into the area of exaggeration and contextual ignorance. Keep digging.

Wow. You are really struggling to stay on topic here. The winner of an argument is the one who defends his position until the other yields, accepts the new position or removes them self from the discussion/changes the subject. You have done two of the three. I win.

It must be hard waking up every single day knowing what a colossal pussy you are. Do you live in fear every day wondering if today is the day that some dude wants to fight you? Are you going to shite/piss yourself when someone finally has enough of your shite and decides that a few nights in the pokey is worth whipping your arse? I'm no pussy. I'll avoid violence if at all possible (hence my claims to get on the phone, shame them into stopping). But should things get physical, I am not afraid to throw hands. In fact, it's liberating. Hitting and getting hit is strangely satisfying. There is one objective. Everything else falls away and you can focus everything you have into one single task. It's some sort of carnal programming that every man on earth has. Some of us are better at suppressing it than others, I guess. Good luck with that.

Whoa, brotha. If that's the case, we need to immediately revisit every single trial conducted in the history of our country. One small, irrelevant fact crashes an entire argument. This is ground breaking stuff here. Should I get the Justice Department on the line?

I don't know how to spell it out any better.

I-R-R-E-L-E-V-A-N-T fact. This means that it has no bearing what so ever on the current matter at hand. Your jaywalking shite is IRRELEVANT to our discussion about fans smoking in a building that has banned the practice.

You get one more response in this discussion. If it's not intelligent AND relevant, we're done.

Can you show me where I ever said that it was not against the rules to smoke in the the dome? I think you really do live in un-reality.

You must've bought the new DVD release of Fight Club and watched it way too many times to come up that lame arse, bad arse speech. Now be a man and step up! Buy some tix in the section that smokes and fix that fricking shite - you are the man for the job! Army of ONE!!!!

let's raise ticket prices and get the trash out... take their season tickets (or whoever's account it is, they're responsible for the people in their seats)

then again the smoking areas are kinda far from the terrace, i don't blame the smokers

This entire discussion started about whether smokers should be allowed to smoke in the building right?

Brad Pitt and Ed Norton are pussies. And you obviously didn't read my post thoroughly. I simply do not mind fighting, I have never claimed to win un-conditionally, I simply stated that fisticuffs are not out of the question with me and that the situation WILL be resolved one way or another. And guys like you, who think the dude they are in a disagreement with would certainly not resort to violence, are in for some serious shite when it gets down.

You really do need to get into a fight once in a while to truly appreciate your manhood. I promise, you won't be disappointed. Now, if we could just get all the punk asses out there carrying guns to put them aside so we can figure shite out like men, we'd be in business.

Just read the first few pages. Cwill, you come off as a ignorant redneck and I didn't expect that from you.
Only in La would you have people arguing for 5 pages about something as stupid as this. It should be a simple case that if you smoke your arse gets tossed out on your head. I am sure the OP or any newbie is not expecting to sit around the trash as it is and does not want smoking around them.

I love how people on this board equate smoking with trash. Just because someone smokes, that doesn't make them trash. Prissy little frickers, ain't y'all. It's a bullshite law, and it deserves to be disobeyed. One person complained, so they expect everyone else to bend to their will? frick off. The majority up there did not care about the smoking, and apparently hasn't cared about it, yet this one guy shows up for one game and has a hissy-fit, so we should congratulate him and condemn the others? He should quit being a crybaby and just not go back.

Other people hate the smoking up there, they just don't feel like saying anything about it. I know a few people from out of town who have ended up there with the animals and they were shocked afterwards and not just at the smoking. One couple mumbled something to me about they think they know what the term "west bank trash" means now.

I can party with anyone, doesn't matter to me.

All due respect, smoking is trash, podnuh. You're right about the state law being terrible. I agree. I'll sign a petition if you want. But in this case, it's been banned in the Dome. If you want to smoke, do it where they tell you.

It's really kind of pathetic to watch all the smokers run to the exits during timeouts and half time. Smokers are slaves to the nicotine. They are it's bitch. If you could see it from an unbiased point of view, and really see how needy and pathetic it makes them look, you'd quit.
