Sorry, but some here seem to add their own wording to dramatize. Nothing in that article said that the Saints were trying to move up (as is stated by the title of the thread). It simply speculates that the Saints could be a team that would trade up. That is completely different.

Two years ago, we were to "expect Mark Ingram to ask for a trade" right before the 2013 draft. That never happened and now he has a 4 year deal. lol.
Also, he reported that Lewis was being shopped (I started that thread). Not an hour later, Rapaport reports that they were redoing Lewis' contract. LaConfora is full of shite.

This rumor is about as good as trading Brees to Tampa Bay to get Jameis Winston.
I'm sure the Saints are looking to the future for a QB, I just don't think it'll be in this draft or any draft. The QB they could be looking for could already be in the league just sitting on the sidelines.

Drew Brees will be better than any qb in this draft for the next 3 years minimum. So theres that. I rather tank a year post brees than draft one too early especially trading away a farm.

Foles is on the last year of his contract, he's a veteran bandaid and you would have to think Mariotta will be at least Foles good after a year on the bench moving forward for them. Won't have to pay a shitty arse qb 10 plus million a year as a starter to keep foles around.
