Should we trade MT for more depth

Michael Thomas is the 5th highest-paid WR and takes up a huge portion of our salary cap. He has the potential to be that good but the saints have no one else behind him. If they trade him and acquire 2 good WR I think that would be better for the team. Also, we could use the extra space to help depth at the Dline and other positions.

Trading him now would only save the Saints $1 million, with $9.1 million in dead money in 2021. His dead cap hit would be $22.7 million in 2022.

It doesn't save us any money at all.

The only value is future draft picks and with his current injury rehab, the Saints have to wait and see.

The Saints are positioned right over the pork barrel and MT is not using lubricant.

I think MT's value increases with each passing game, watching these shite arse receivers get no separation. A few more weeks of Lil'Jordan, Hogan, and Calloway may be enough to get MT13 inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame this year.

Post less.

MT coming back healthy immediately creates depth, how good that depth will be is yet to be determined. Our #2 guy is no longer going against the other team's #1, will Callaway have more success against the #2 CB? Will it also open Harris up for more favorable match-ups?

By giving the defense some one else to focus on, how much does that open up AK?

yes the saints gave MT and kamara way overprice contracts when they should have traded them or let them walk. the saints will be hurt for many years after this and get mediocre play from both until they need a new contract and feel like playing hard again.

trying to trade either one at this point saves them nothing so they screwed themselves very good with those stupid overpriced contracts

Both had career best years the year AFTER they signed those contracts, but sure let’s go with they are just mailing it in.

you want one Randy Moss or 2 borderline all pro guys? Jerry rice or 2 good players. I'm gonna go with one elite wr over 2 good wrs.

He needs to completely heal up and then show out at the end of the season increasing his trade value for next year's draft.

MT lost me forever by pulling this shite. I've yet to hear any legitimate reason why he waited so long to get the surgery.

Saints need to lose him as soon as it becomes beneficial to do so. That's a cancerous player.
