So did Cam. What's your point? Steve Smith showed great sportsmanship after the game IMO.

This is true, steve smith is a man you don't frick with during a game, his is a competitor in every sense of the word.

He nearly always shows respect after the game. I would have loved for him to be a saint.

Bitches will be bitches. And for the record, Cam Newton did stay on the field and shake hands. I saw it on ESPN and he was shaking Brees' hand.

My take is that this is a non-story. Shockey was upset with how he was released. Legitimate or not, those are his feelings.

This is not a sport that has a tradition of handshakes like rugby or hockey, so I really don't see why so many fans get outraged when someone doesn't shake hands. No one gets upset.when a player doesn't shake hands with every other member of the opposing team; why be upset of he shakes none of them?

Again, this is a non-story. Shockey os no longer a Saint and what he does or doesn't do really shouldn't concern us.

You're right. The 53 players on the saints roster released shockey from his contract.

Good god. Shockey leaving the field pissed and without shaking hands is a non-issue. I was grateful for Shock's tenure with us. He played an important role in our Super Bowl season. Get over it folks. What's funny is that many of you here are "whining" that he is a "whiney bitch". That takes the cake.

The Saints won--relax people

Shockey just ran into the locker room without shaking hands with the #Saints.

I agree. He helped us win a superbowl. Saints won today. Who cares. This really is a non issue.

Derp or not, I laughed my arse off. It was worth the penalty (the Panthers lost those yards anyway ) imo. I think he did it because the player shoved an elbow at him like "get offa me" and Ingram was like "FFFfrick YOU MAN, CAN'T HANG WITH ME, SUPAMANNNNN"

Soph, I'm not saying he HAD to shake hands with our players, you'd just think that winning a SB with some of those guys he would still have a bond and mutual respect there. It was surprising to me how he seemed to have a "frick the entire saints organization" attitude. But look who we are talking about. Didn't see an obligation there, just surprised a bit at his attitude.

Bobby on Shockey refusing to shake hands:
"That's trailer trash! That's trailer park trash from Oklahoma!"

He's also blaming Shockey's lack of a father figure for acting that way.
