Every corner's weakness is perfect passes and great catches.

Being 5'8 while so they can throw over your head usually doesn't help either.

And Peterson got fricking worked at times in college. What a great prospect though and he's already an elite corner

5.5 is still pretty good

Pretty good, but still inflated by limited carries.

He should never be a 20 carry a game back. He's more of a Sproles type. 4-5 carries a game and maybe 2-3 passes out of the backfield out of the game.

He's not a great receiver. Not really even a 'good' receiver. I think he could be a good change of pace guy for a team though. Run a few screens with him, let him return kick offs and carry the ball on some misdirections. That's what he would be good for.

Well, he probably isn't going to get beat deep all that much with where he was playing. Like you said, he was in a position to make plays

That doesn't mean he didn't have the ability to cover deep routes. LSU put him in a position to be close to the ball, that's what NFL teams will do.

Mathieu has the hips, feet, and speed to play great coverage.

I'm typing all of this negative stuff about him, but I don't hate the guy. I just don't think he's right for us considering what draft picks we have, how high he might be drafted, and his off the field issues. He would be entirely too close to all of that shite that got him in trouble. He even said that himself.

The saint's need playmakers on offense. I believe Lewis and Greer will be good enough on the outside to let a player like Mathieu fill the safety/corner hybrid role.

I get the wariness about his off the field issues being close to home.

That's pretty much what I think too.

Maybe. I don't know about db, but I suppose we will see. I would just like to see him being used by coaches who know what they are doing. I just feel the offensive coaches at LSU misused him,

Possibly, but there is a reason NFL teams are putting him through DB drills.

I agree with F Machine that you are undervaluing our third pick.

When you are rebuilding the worst defense in NFL history to a new scheme, you don't spend your third round pick on an undersized, situational DB with character concerns. There are MUCH more pressing needs than a nickle corner.

I would have said pick up TM7 in the 3rd before we got that FA corner but now I feel like we will be overstocked at that position w/ Greer, new guy (forget his name), White, PRob, Mack) Maybe I'm wrong.

If I think HB can and will be a great player, how am I undervaluing our 3rd round pick?

Undersized, character concerns...that's why he's going in round 3 and not in round 1

Greer won't be around too much longer. I do feel like Patrick Robinson is 1. Better than he is given credit for and 2. Gettin better every year and 3. About to hit his stride

I'm not entirely sure hb7 won't be used as a joker playing at safety for a significant amount of snaps

I don't agree. He has just been so inconsistent. Will have a good game one week and then look absolutely terrible the next

No I don't know how good RS is, but Either LSU recruits the worst offensive talent in the nation or LSU coaches are among the worst offensive coaches in the nation Either way, their offense has been abysmal for some years now. I don't watch them all that often (Sept when da honey badger was playing) so I don't know about RS specifically

Then my advice to you is to shut the frick up.

Quit your babbling about a team you admittedly didn't even watch.

Retard, I watched every game they played in 2011. Their offense blows, though I could've deduced that from watching them get shut out in the BCS title game. They didnt cross the 50. So stop being a baby because I'm not making fun of the school you most likely did not go to. We're having a discussion about RS

I'm not a college guy at all, but the LSU games I did watch made me glad I wasn't into it. LSU would infuriate me to no end.
