I like to call him shoestrings.

If you touch him there, he falls down immediately.

And yet you speak like an expert.

Isn't it possible that both are true?
LSU's offensive coaches are bad AND Shep isn't talented?

As inept as our offense has been, they tried to fit him in to the role that Trindon Holliday flourished in, and he just couldn't manage it. He was a good ambassador for the school. Was just overrated coming out of high school.

I don't know what the obsession with RS is.

Is he the only college player in the country who was rated highly in HS but didn't pan out in the NCAA?

I'm not speaking like an expert. You were dismissive of what someone said about their coaching staff. It is quantifiably true. Their offense has been terrible so it's not limited to one player.

Again, not so much about RS. Ill take your word that he blows. Just wanted to point out the criticism levied at LSU's staff is pretty spot on. They are abysmal offensively.

No I'm arguing that the coaching has nothing to do with RS's crappiness.

I'm not defending the coaching overall.

One of the few times we've had the #1 recruit in the country. He just HAD to be good, right?

Alright. I misunderstood. You were pretty vague there is only one LSU player I will actively defend

Per Shep, Saints have pretty much guaranteed him a free agent opportunity, he will not get drafted

Deion says he'll be a big time playmaker in the NFL.

This makes me skeptical.

He won't be drafted.

He was never going to be a QB at a BCS school. Dude has a noodle for an arm.

He should have never been a WR. Doesn't catch or run routes that great. This makes me skeptical about his ability to play CB as well.

It would have been hard to have him as a CB over Patrick Peterson, Mo Claiborne or Tyrann Mathieu, so I can see why he shouldn't have played there.

Say what you want, but he has talent. Les Miles likes big bruising RBs. Ridley, Charles Scott, Hilliard, etc. Speed guys like Ford, Keiland Williams and Sheppard get used sparingly. All of Sheppards highlights are great runs out of the backfield. If he was splitting time at RB, he'd likely be a third or fourth round pick IMO. He is slight, but he's quick and has moves.

I haven't heard any draft talk but I know what I saw from him in college. He's the most phenomenal defensive college player in a loooong time, he put up ridiculous stats and crazy plays week in and week out against the best competition in the nation. And he can be had for a 3rd round pick. Lets kick the tires indeed.

If he's gonna be a RB, then we really don't need him.

I wouldn't mind us giving him a try, but not too high. I think he could be in the mold of Polamalu, a trouble maker on the field, but without the size. I can't to see what he can do.
