For what price?

If he’s crippling the team’s salary cap then we have no chance at a SB. We will make the playoffs again and get bounced again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

He said he thinks all that will fall into place. Who knows maybe Brees will play for a little less to finish his career here

Obvious statement is obvious.

Not sure why anyone would think differently.

The amount we'll have tied to the salary cap at QB next season will be wayyyyy more crippling if Brees does NOT play for the Saints, fwiw.

I'm good as long as he goes to a more run oriented offense.. And build the defense up more as well.

Get the best defense in the NFL?

Yes, yes the Saints do need to do that.

This season
Brees:

Completion % 1st in NFL
TD/INT ratio 1st in NFL
Total QBR 3rd in NFL

I would say he’s worthy of keeping.

Pre social media nobody gave a shite what someone’s salary was in the NFL. I think it was a little more enjoyable to discuss, now that’s the biggest issue with most fans regardless of how talented the player is. I wish NFL would make player’s salaries secret to the public.

I expect the Saints to choke in the postseason again.

Sorry, millennial, let me fill you in. People absolutely paid attention to the salary cap and how much a team had available to spend before the advent of social media. Just because you were six years old and not really a sports fan at that point doesn't mean it didn't happen.
