The #Broncos are benching QB Russell Wilson and will start Jarrett Stidham on Sunday vs. the Chargers.

Wilson has $37M that becomes guaranteed if he can't pass a physical in the offseason. Denver could try to get out of his contract this offseason — and this could be a step towards that happening.

He is searching for his next Brees. If he doesn’t find him, he will be a highly mediocre coach going forward.

Can't wait for the saints to sign Wilson for 200m guaranteed instead of getting a draft QB

Wilson stopped caring about football a couple years ago. He’s just politicking now

He’s had a rebound year.

I thought he was completely done. But he’s shown the ability to be very productive and efficient. But he’s nowhere near worth the money he is being paid.

How the hell does this work? The contract becomes guaranteed only if he CAN'T physically play? This kind of incentivizes a guy to get out of shape/hurt and be lazy in rehab to get guaranteed money.

They are doing what the Raiders did to Carr. They know they won't pay him that huge salary next year so they just sent him home so he wouldn't get hurt

Stidham had that good game against the 49ers last year after the raiders put the kibosh on Carr.

This is relevant for us as far as the second round pick we're getting from them goes.

I believe he's playing chess. Knowing the front office not willing to throw that type of $ away. Then he possibly create discord and say choose me or him to get out of the job and off to San Diego. SP has NEVER been able to find a QB to replace Brees so he won't now the dude is not a great talent evaluator at the QB position. Just creating his own mess to get to a young rising star in Justin with San Diego.

Carr would not be this “bad” with a competent play caller.

Broncos Benching Wilson

That’s coach Sean Payton’s way. Once it’s been deterined that a mistake has been made, don’t double down.

Clearly Dennis Allen learned nothing from Sean Payton. He’s the complete opposite. Carr was a huge mistake, if Payton brought him here, something I highly doubt, he’d see a mistake has been made and cut bait immediately.

If not for KC jumping ahead of us in the draft, Maholmes is a Saint.
