Fine by me. 4 games would have been a big blow.

Big time. LFG. Don't need him week 1 anyway with the turnstile OL HOU is bringing in. Rest of the guys can hold it down for one game

This is actually really good news. Could have been a hell of a lot worse.

We might be able to get by with a patchwork rotation at DT. Malcom Brown, Mario Edwards, Taylor Stallworth, & maybe even Trey Hendrickson.

We probably shouldn't expect much of a pass rush (unless Mario Edwards produces) from these guys on the interior, but we should easily be able to stuff the run with these guys.

Cam Jordan might even slide inside during passing downs if we find a 3rd legit DE to rush the passer. Thankfully, we just have to do this for 1 game.

Houston isn't that big of a blow, but Idk...the Saints always do start slow out of the gate.

Dennis Allen's defense doesn't play for the first three games anyways.

We're lucky that we play the Texans week 1. Their 2018 OL was horrible & the only new additions are either rookies or someone that was injured for the 2018 season.

These are their most likely options for 2019...

LT
-Matt Kalil - injured for the entire 2018 season. Former Pro Bowler.
-Julie'n Davenport - 2nd year player that started at LT last year. 54.9 pff score (#73 ranked OT).
-Tytus Howard - Rookie. 1st round pick.

LG
-Senio Kelemete -56.0 pff score (#56 ranked OG)

OC
-Nick Martin - Starting OC in 2018. 59.3 pff score (#21 ranked OG).
-Nick Mancz - 65.5 pff score (#22 ranked OC).

RG
-Zach Fulton - 54.0 pff score (#60 ranked OG).

RT
-Seantrel Henderson - Started week 1 in 2018, but missed the entire season after that. 63.3 pff score for week 1.
-Tytus Howard - Rookie. 1st round pick.

We’ll need to get pressure. Can’t have Watson having all day not to mention covering DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fulller

Yep. Gotta lock down Hopkins & Fuller. If we can do that...they're probably screwed. Their TE's are pretty much garbage.

Lamar Miller is a solid RB, but we should easily be able to stop him with Cam Jordan, Malcom Brown, Stallworth, Davenport, & our 3 LB's...not to mention Vonn Bell & PJ Williams in run support.

Watson, Hopkins, & Fuller are probably their only chance of winning imo. Good pressure on Watson & good coverage from Lattimore/Apple/PRob/Marcus Williams makes this game a very likely win.

This is some of the best news of offseason. I thought he might have gotten 4. With no Rankins 4 weeks would have been bad.

Seems about right. I thought he'd get between 0-2, with 4 being a very unlikely worst case.

Didn't expect it to start at 1 game as I thought if he got suspended at all it'd be 2 bargained down to 1, so I guess this skips that step.

Good news for depth though. Knock on wood TC and preseason go well and we head in only 2 men down at DT for 1 game, and then just Rankins until about midseason.

Has the crime problem been eliminated in Jefferson Parish? Doesn't the JPSO have better things to do than go on a stupid raid like this. Leave the man alone.
