Saints were the better team

First off the defense sucked really bad. Secondary was torched, pass rush was nonexistent and linebackers all look slow or out of place.
But still a lot of breaks went the Bucs way to win.
Fumble recovery by the Bucs for a touchdown
Very bad missed delay of game and false start on the same play that the Bucs got a touchdown on
Thomas fumble when the Saints were driving.
Bucs player fumbles and recovers it with 6 Saints around him - Saints were up 17-14 at that point.
Blown whistle of Thomas catch and run. Costing yards or touchdown.
Quite a few missed offensive pass interference calls the Bucs got away with.
3 and 1 when Fitpatrick did a qb sneak with Saints up 7-0. He did not get a first down. Next play is a 58 yard touchdown.
Blown timeout by the Saints when facing a 3 and 12 early in the 3rd. Could have used the timeout late for sure.
Those major points flipped it from a Saints win to a Bucs win.

You are totally right but it shouldn’t matter. Even with every one of those things going wrong, you still win if you’re the better team. The saints didn’t. Need to make big time adjustments on defense.
There’s still hope for this season though for sure.

Although I agree with all of your individual points, the Bucs made the plays that it took to win.

I still say a lot of lucky bounces went the Bucs way. Especially with turnovers

For some stupid reason I always thought the better team was the one with the most points at then end of the game. Just me though.

That was one of the worst defensive performances I've EVER seen, and that includes the old Aints teams.
You get 40 pts, Brees goes for 430 yds and 3 TDs, you expect that to be more than enough to win, especially with Tampa playing their woolly-booger lumberjack backup QB. Afterall, we had the Defensive Rookie of the Year back at corner, we added supposed difference makers at linebacker and corner in free agency, and drafted a pashrusher primarily to ease the doubleteams on Cam Jordan. Surely you can hold the Bucs to 39 or less....

I'd love an explanation as to how a missed call on a delay of game somehow suggests the team on defense was better.
