Yeah this was always the plan with Taylor. People thought I was insane for suggesting this would happen. Better to get something now then let him walk for nothing this offseason though.

I understand that but I'd like to know the comp, if its just a mid rounder I'd have preferred to just keep him this season and let him walk

Yeah, this better be for at least a 2nd + more.

Underhill said he stopped taking coaching so can’t have a malcontent screwing up the defense

were deep in backfield
contract year and he wants big money for slot corner
adds up - thats being said,
compensation?

From Underhill:

But behind the scenes, the situation never went away. The Saints, according to sources, made it clear they weren’t going to re-sign Gardner-Johnson, which ended him withholding his participation during team drills after less than a week. There was nothing to fight for because nothing was being offered, which meant the safety had no choice but to play and earn his money from another team on the open market.
The damage was done, though. Sources say Gardner-Johnson stopped taking coaching, which was a source of growing concern.

Guess DA didn't want the headache going into season if CGJ was already ghosting coaches.

Probably so. Underhill had an article primed and ready to go for it.

I’ll hold my judgment until the compensation but anything less than a 2nd and I hate it. I rather not have a 3rd or less pick and have him for a full year.
Is their a tackle, LB or Interior DL that we may have gotten? That would lessen the blow

I am prepared for him getting traded for a 4th or a 5th. We have seen them dump talented players with attitude problems for less than their value.

NFL rarely trades player for player.

Say what you will but probably pleasing to Michael Thomas
