with the confirmed workout with Baker Mayfield in the near future, does Payton package Ingram and our first to move up in the draft to get Baker? Ingram's best years are most likely behind him

Are you smoking crack? Why would Payton give up a player that hurts our chances of winning this year and a 1st round draft pick for a QB for won't play for 3 years?

He should start slowing down eventually, but he hasn't shown any signs of that yet.

I also don't think we can get as much value for him as you're assuming we will. He's a 28 year old RB with 1 year left on his contract. As far as value, he's probably equal to a 3rd rounder at best. That probably won't get you into the teens if you're trading up from #27.

Smooth way to save face. Why didn't you just say that in the OP?

I was thinking 4th rounder (unless some team desperately needed him), but you might be right.

We have 1 yr of ingram on books left.

If that helps turn and acquire a franchise qb that sets up our team for the next 10-12 yrs post Brees then so be it. Very small price to pay. Ingram is great. So is Kamara. RB in draft is also plenty of deep.

If anything Saints trade down maybe picks up a 2nd rd pick and still get a player they want.

So a team with a future HOF QB that was one brain fart away from the NFCCG needs to blow things up for a rookie QB. Got it.

People are so anxious to get rid of a solid to great RB.

No, but he is a valuable asset. An asset that has 1 yr remaining on his deal. It takes a valuable asset to parlay into another asset. A qb of the future is kind of a big dilleo.

I wasn't referring to you. You at least backed it up with a good argument.

I was talking about those that are just throwing Ingram out there as a trade just to get rid of him
