Yea and he’ll be 31 after that contract.

The reality of the situation is if Olave and Shaheed can not put up a full and highly productive season this year, the whole position will need to be reconstructed next year anyway. There is no need to overpay for mid level production during a rebuild.

11th ranked rookie WR as far as yards go in only 13 games. He was a 7th rounder.

It’s really not that big of a deal if Moore sees potential in him with a big body WR. There’s more incompetent players on the current roster.

A 6'5 215 WR, who had 55 targets, 41 Receptions, 475 Yards, with 3 TD's in his rookie year. I don't hate it.

I don't know how anyone can be upset with adding a 6'5" receiver with upside. Yeah he is a little older but its not like he has played 5+ seasons. His body is not going to deteriorate like other WR's that are 8 years in by 30 y/o.

I like this more for the fact that we could have Vele, Tipton, and Shaheed as a solid 2-4 WR core. Maybe that will make it easier to trade Olave for a high end pick and draft a new #1 or trade Olave for a true #1. If Tipton/ Vele are solid then we would probably ok with Shaheed/ Cooks in the meantime. We aren't competing and as long as Shough has options id rather have guys he can grow with.

Broncos have big TE that is respectable pass catcher. Factor that into your hypothetical bs analysis as well please.

Factor in a completely different position. Done!

Now what in your opinion was BS about my guessing at what might have been one of the possible scenarios factoring in? Considering all I can do is guess since I was not in the room, and clearly stated "IF".

I take it you are against the trade? Why exactly? But please refrain from using any hypothetical bs analysis, and stick to facts.

My first post in the thread indicated I like the trade. Broncos likely paid alot for their TE and may intend to use him like Jimmy Graham this making Vele less important in future plans. Its just a suggested reason why they moved Vele and is completely speculation. Its a better explanation than the Broncos coach doesn't think he is good or doesn't want to keep him.

I think this is a moot point. We have had absolutely no issues drafting WR's and TE's. It just wasn't really a need through the Brees era and hasn't been the biggest need through the post Brees era. The statement should be "if we would" and not if we "could". We are 100% capable but haven't had to. Once we have anything close to resembling a "franchise QB" is when you make that move.

When we did draft receivers with low picks including Colston you have:
Devery Henderson (Rd 2)
Colston (Rd 7)
Meachem (Rd 1)
B Cooks (Rd 1)
J Graham (Rd 3)
M Thomas (Rd 2)
T Smith (Rd 3)
Trautman (Rd 3)
Olave (Rd 1)

We have a lot of success drafting WR's and TE's. We just haven't done it because there are bigger needs and we haven't been in a position to do so for 15 years.

So? That doesn’t make this free, you still have less picks than you would have without bringing in a guy that can’t even beat out a 3rd round rookie now and doesn’t significantly help this team, could probably get similar production after training camp cuts

This trade defies logic

You know what's better than 1, 4th round pick?

2, 4th round picks

The logic I’m seeing from some people in this thread is truly mystifying.
