Seeing the vision for the picks and HOPING they pan out is a far cry from acting like I know these picks are good or bad, like some idiots here.

Nice pick. He fits how Staley likes to play his safeties. Smart, role versatile, etc..

Over 200 tackles
- 12.5 TFL
- 16 passes defended

Leads FBS defensive backs with 173 solo tackles since 2023.

I mean when someone isn’t especially good in college statistically or eye test wise it just seems odd to assume they’ll be good in the pros. I mean the saints have drafted so poorly they’d be a far cry more successful just following some beat writers BPA list.

I prefer Watts (I always pick pass D over run D), but I get why they think they can coach him up in the scheme Staley is going to run.

This actually looks more like a Vaccaro type dude, when they actually played him properly and didn't force him deep most downs.

It does look like a Vaccaro type. Honestly think he went a round early but I don't know a ton about him.

Just watched some game highlights)

They’re going safe, high floor guys outside of Slough

Also older.

Slough in school 7 years
Broughton for 5
Sanker 4

If he can play that hybrid role, this also alleviates some concerns about corner depth since it seems he can and has played a ton in the slot. Mathieu also plays some slot, so not really much different from him either, but when Vaccaro played his best it was in the slot and in the box.

We have 2 guys that can play deep safety, so I wouldn't mind seeing some 3 safety sets again, mixing up where Sanker and Mathieu line up a lot.

Sanker is a pretty ideal fit for what Staley does.

Yeah the draft is fine outside of Rip Van Winkle.

I just remembered the way Staley has run his defenses in the past with that tite front is he has a safety rotate down in the run game and also helps with anything outside.

I think that will be the plan for sanker.

It makes sense. They desperately need a stable draft that provides some base.

Not a fan of QB at 40, but hey if they feel that good about him I'm willing to wait and see. I hope to he proved wrong on my feelings about that pick.

Would be a nice draft if we just took Ezeiruaku at 40.
