Saints released WR Samori Toure, per source
They were getting to or at the 90 man roster limit
Probably going to need to cut a few more and bringing in some vets and guys off tryouts

I'd imagine RB/ TE/ WR/ OL will be first big cuts this year and then DL/ CB/ remaining OL will be the last to be figured out.

Yeah after I saw we signed a few more UDFAs I knew some cuts had to be coming. These aren't surprising.
Hull only played in 6 games with extremely limited action despite all the injuries we had, and Cooks didn't even see the field last year, with only 2 games the year before.
Expecting some receivers to go as well, if not now then definitely after we get a look after rookie camp.
Edit:
Missed Toure. That's was one of the most obvious of the WRs that weren't going to make it.

Kamara making the team.

We should cut 2 more receivers. No reason to draft 3 and only cut 1

More are definitely coming, as Loomis specifically said some of the numbers aren't where they want them, but that you have to figure that out as you go since you want to find a guy to sign first before you cut a guy. But WR was specifically mentioned as a position they are currently too heavy on, even for the 90 man. It think it was 14 and they want that closer to 10, but you also have to get a look at certain ones before you decide what to do with them.
I think there is one or two more now that are obvious cuts (I'll have to look at the depth chart again), so I imagine we'll see at least 1 more go before rookie camp.

Given that Kamara doesnt get released, I wonder if Estime will make it to our PS.
If hes on the roster one of Kendre/Neal/AK arent.
Id rather those 3 be on the roster and then promote Estime when someone is hurt

Just went back and looked and Elijah Cooks was listed as a WR on the 90 man depth chart I saw, so that would be 2 of the 14 receivers cut.
Even though I like the potential I saw in the last game last year, I think Ronnie Bell is the other who could get cut before rookie camp. I think the rest they'd want to get a look at first before deciding anything.

I would keep Estime over Kendre as of today.

I think based on what he showed last year, and the fact that he can stay healthy, gives him a leg up on Miller.
This is definitely Miller's last chance, so we'll see how it goes.

Cut 2 WR's. Elijah Cooks was on WR depth chart not TE. Still have (7) TE/ (7) RB/ (12) WR. Palmer/ Bell could be cut soon too but they may keep them a while. Once those 2 are gone the WR battle begins.

Yes but they aren’t waiting on Kamara to make a decision.
The Saints were waiting until after the draft to make the decision themselves on whether they were going to keep him

Kendre Miller shouldn’t be on the roster. He hasn’t shown any ability to contribute week after week. So to me it’s etienne/Kamara and whichever of Neal/Estime put in the offseason work. Should be a great RB competition this camp.
I’m hoping Kamara can come back healthy and give the team one more year of third down receiving, a little zone rushing, and leadership. But I’m also a huge Kamara homer.

Nick said on air he talked to Alvin about it and it wasn’t about his decision

Well all I can say is Loomis is still saying they are waiting on a decision, even in the post draft, and every time it doesn't sound like he means his decision. Even when Moore talked about it he says Alvin is on the team, but in a weird way like he isn't sure what decision is going to be made.
Until I hear Alvin say it himself and not second hand through Nick, everything sure sounds like they are waiting to see if Kamara decides to retire. Nick has a tendency to not quite say what was actually said by other people.

20:26 um not picking a running back, does that impact Alvin one way or another or would you guys want to do there? 20:34 Yeah
, well, you know, we'll we'll see what happens here in the next few weeks, 20:37 but um yeah, we didn't we didn't go into the draft thinking, you know, we had to go get a running back either. 20:45 Would you like that settled before like onfield work begins? Sync to video time 20:49 Yeah, I mean, I don't know that I would characterize it that way. We'll well just see what happens

Mischaracterizing what he said about it tbh
