Longer the contract the more the spread and the players don't usually see the last year, which is usually the largest amount of money.

Guarantees matter much more. This will wind up being a 2-3 year deal when it's said and done.

Edit:
I see Fun Bunch said as much.

Lattimore and Crawley with PRob in the slot.

Marcus Williams at Safety.

You have to feel REALLY good about the secondary right now.

If we get could even a remotely capable front 7 pass rusher to add, and add maybe a LB or DE in the draft...I'm feeling really good.

That is EXTREMELY reasonable. No one should be mad at that.

Not sure what the total value of the deal will be, but if the guarantees are only 10 million I would imagine it'd be somewhere in the 20 range. Not sure what the cap hits will be but probably not bad

An aside: Dianna Russini must have a good source with the Saints cause she's been popping a lot of news for us lately, worth a follow

Nevermind i can get behind that. Cap hit probably 5 mil or less. High risk high reward potential.

Only $10 mil guaranteed makes this a 2 year deal. That's pretty cheap.

Edit:
And $20 mil total with only a $5 mil signing bonus makes this a very good deal.

Also means it's really a one year deal with such a low signing bonus. Then it'll be year to year based on play.

Yup. Everyone should be thrilled with this. Fixed one of the biggest depth issues on the team imo. Secondary is looking like one of the strongest parts of the entire team.

Have to get another guy that can get pressure and a capable LB.

Still need a TE, WR and backup OL, and possibly a 3rd RB. After that I'm feeling pretty damn good.

I wonder if they play less 3 safety alignments meaning less of Von Bell & more of PRob in that slot

Breaux is walking, we know that.

I have my doubts if PJ isn't traded somewhere. I think they like maulet

Agreed, that's an awesome signing. Hurts the Eagles too who come to the Dome next year.

A 4 year deal? He turns 31 in September. I like the signing but I'm surprised the Saints went for 4 years.
