I think this defense is going to be OK

Werner on run downs, Kwon on passing downs… less workload on kwon and allow him to get and start healthy

We should still easily have enough money to make more additions.
Assuming that we're done with LB after signing Kwon...WR & DT look like the best bets.
Alshon Jeffery, WR, Eagles. Age: 31.
Golden Tate, WR, Giants. Age: 33.
Danny Amendola, WR, Lions. Age: 35.
Kawann Short, DT, Panthers. Age: 32.
Jurrell Casey, DT, Broncos. Age: 31.
Geno Atkins, DT, Bengals. Age: 33.
Beau Allen, DT, Patriots. Age: 29.
P.J. Hall, NT, Texans. Age: 26.
Damon Harrison, NT, Packers. Age: 33.

I can't remember being this pumped heading into preseason in quite a few years. Hopefully, CSP can continue to quell any of our doubts moving forward into the preseason. LFG!

Pete Werner, Zach Baun, and Kaden Ellis can go to the bench! The Saints have their guys in Demario Davis and Kwon Alexander!

Cornerback too.
I think you need jurell casey or short first.
Amendola or tate second.

CB is basically picked clean. Richard Sherman & Dre Kirkpatrick are the only options.

Oh i know.
It's crazy they waited this long.
I'd put a dt as the number one need.
Just don't see why they didn't bring in malcolm butler, bouye, or breeland. All signed for 3 or 4 mil with only a couple mil guaranteed.

Will he be practicing and be available for game 1?
I like the signing and think we needed it. He was missed at the end of season last year.

Hes a very good Will LB. When our D was really playing well. He was the difference. Hes always hurt though. Even assuming hes right after the injury probably only get 5 games with him.

No I’m saying we just signed Kwon and we used 2 high draft picks on LB in the last 2 drafts. So where does that leave Werner and Baun. Look I love Kwon but he is always hurt.
Down vote away but if you don’t think the front office hasn’t made some head scratching draft picks the last few years ur not paying attention. We need to trade for a solid vet corner not scrub free agents..

Alshon can play outside or slot, but $$$ once again an issue

Kwon might have a bad injury history, but for just 2-3 mil...you just fricking deal with it, b/c that is absurd value. In the end...value is everything, & he's a damn good player when healthy enough.
We used a late 2nd on Werner, & he's a 4-3 LB all the way. Unfair to make a judgement about him yet, but the expectations for him are much higher than they were with Baun. We're about to find out.
Baun was a 3-4 OLB transitioning to our 4-3 style. I'm still giving him 1 more year to develop in that regard, but if that doesn't work...he needs to be tried out as a Pass Rushing Specialist. Baun didn't fit our scheme, but 3rd round was great value for him. He has tools to work with.
I feel pretty good about LB. About 4 other decent young guys as well.
