The New Orleans Saints appear to have a new linebacker on the roster.
Former Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jayrone Elliott said he signed with the team, making the news official on his Instagram page.
“4 Ville dudes on the same squad??!!” Elliott posted. “New Orleans what’s good lmao! Seriously tho blessed to be able to be apart of the Saints organization!”
Undrafted from Toledo four years ago, Elliott had a good preseason showing with Green Bay, recording five sacks, and was eventually employed as a part-time pass rusher in Packers’ 3-4 alignment, recording 57 tackles, four sacks, intercepting one pass, and breaking up two more.
As a collegian, Elliott registered 124 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, 16 sacks, and four pass breakups as a defensive end over 47 career appearances. A native of Cleveland, he joins fellow Glenville High alumni Ted Ginn, Marshon Lattimore, and Justin Hardee on the Saints roster.

seems like a player that can make a Hau'oli Kikaha type available for release.
