Neither does Mickey Loomis. He's been kicking the salary cap hell can down the road for years now. He's the only one that didn't see that once Brees and Payton were gone, we should have gone into rebuild mode trying to accumulate draft picks and young talent instead of running up the credit card on veterans trying to make us a contender with Dennis Allen and Derek Carr

Our salary cap situation sucks again for next year too. Loomis needs to retire and let someone else come in and clean up the cap sheet and handle the rebuild.

The Saints weren't in a position to get a top candidate.

People on this site overrated Moore just because he fit the mold of the young up and coming offensive mind.

But, he wasn't a hot commodity. We got him because what we were matched who he was as a candidate.

So, just like the franchise has some development needed...so does Moore.

I already know I’m right. I’m always right.

It’s been a vicious cycle for years. I criticize the idiotic moves or draft picks, get shite on here from it. Bump the threads years later to show my genius, then get shite on. The cycle never ends….

Exactly. Rattler didn't play his best game Sunday but he put the team in position to win the first two games.

What a martyr lol
You left out CKM was hired just two days after helping the eagles as OC to a SB victory. I guess you can tell everyone it was just a coincidence but then you are use to being laughed at.

Wrong. No one wanted this job, you are currently seeing why. Same shite I’ve complained about for years. I actually approved of the Moore hire. I thought that was the best we could do. He may work out, he may not. He was a good gamble under the circumstances.

I’m talking about the Allen hire. Said it was bad at the time, and said Loomis should have went all in on getting Harbaugh. He never bothered to even interview him. Like I said then, if Loomis actually cared about winning, he would have handed everything over to him. At that time, the saints were still viewed as a top tier organization. That is all but gone now.

His ego is too big, it’s why we’re 0-3 with no win in site and Harbaugh is 3-0.

You were not alone. I don't know of a single poster (not that there weren't) who wanted DA over every other possible hire. But most understood Loomis playing it safe but not liking it including me. It was a wasted 3 years for fans while the Org and players made bank.

I’m giving Moore a pass for three years. This roster is shite.

While I mostly agree, there have been signs that he is struggling in the role. This has been a very undisciplined team since the preseason, and the number of dead ball penalties (especially on the offense) each game is out of hand. This is a direct reflection on the coach. You can be shown grace for being bad because the roster sucks, but you can't also be bad due to self-inflicted wounds.

Yep the penalties and clock management is easy to judge. And so far its incredibly poor. It would cost you games even if the talent levels are similar
That is my biggest concern with Moore. This team needs talent. However, he has the team completely unprepared and they are undisciplined as hell. His interviews are laughable and stink of a coach that is in over his head. He throws out canned answers that may times do not even make sense given the question asked.

Most of the people on this board have been crying and bitching for a rebuild for years and it's finally here and still the same crying and bitching. Just need to embrace the suck for a while, every single franchise goes through this.
If only Loomis knew this. He keeps dipping his feet in the pool halfway. No need to keep spending money on useless veterans. For example, what has Reid brough to this team? He needs to completely rebuild and use a FIRST round pick on a QB of the future when we have a high draft pick.

At least Reid is somewhat youngish. No idea what he was thinking with Cooks though. Really have no idea what he thinks with all the decisions he makes.

Saints settled on Moore because he was all that was left

_________________________________________

Okay this is not the worst time where we had to settle for a coach.

Clearly you don't remember the year after Katrina

The Saints were not a desirable coaching destination.

We lucked out with Coach Peyton and we lucked out with no one wanting Brees.

Give this coach some time.

Dennis Allen screwed this team up ( yes with Loomis' help)

We were grossly over the cap , we didn't have a great draft position in a crappy quarterback draft.

Carr surprised everyone with his injury status. So we are out a veteran QB. ( Fortunately,we lucked out with his retirement because he could have tied up the salary cap and the Saints would be screwed for a few years)

We all agree that Jaxson Dart was not a top 10 player, even a top 20 player.

We desperately needed a left tackle, and we're able to get what seems to be a pretty good one.
We have the beginnings of a good foundation with our center and bookend tackles .

We will hopefully see what Shough is all about this season.

Losing sucks, but just be patient and see what this coach can do with the talent he was given.

Im sure people told Moore about New Orleans. Moore, being the young, brash, successful individual he was. Stormed here and started to work diligently.

But eventually the House always wins.
Peyton got ran out, gave arguably his best years here.
Next on the plate for the Machine that is Saints; is Moore.
Hes going to give his best to this place and get eaten alive.

This was before we hired Allen, and before he won the national championship at Michigan. He wanted back in the nfl then, but gms were very skeptical. He only interviewed with the Vikings and was going to take the job if offered but the gm got cold feet at the last minute (Harbaugh has the reputation of being hard to work with) and went with an unproven coach. Saints were probably viewed as a better organization at that time compared to Minnesota so why not?

No other team bothered to interview him that offseason. Different story a few years later and multiple teams were after him after he won the championship.

You should read up before talking shite you have no idea about next time so I don’t have to embarrass you…
