The "offset" is just kicked down the road.

And he's simply not that good. $10M/year for a guy like him, ignoring the cap, is silly.

I agree with you, I'm just explaining why they did it

He already had 6.5 million in dead cap to him so I am hoping that it’s only 14.5 in extra guarantees?

No

The dead cap was from past payments.

He has 916 yards and 7 TDs over the past two seasons combined.

Jonnu Smith put up 884 yards and 8 TDs...last year alone. He makes 4 million a year.

Big resign.

JJ best years incoming. Underratted player. Will likely be hated by this board of course.

I’m sure there were 31 other teams beating down the door to pay Juwan Johnson $10mil/yr

Five career games with more than 50 yards receiving

7% of his career games for a receiving TE

Just as I come after people like Geauxdilocks for being negative all the time and telling them to be objective, the same can be said for you.

This is a ridiculous deal for his past production.

Def a few wanted to take him from us, Denver and the Chiefs.

He already was making 6 mill a year, a resign at 10 mill is fair, considering the tight market rate at this point.

Also JJ put up good numbers with backup qb’s for half the season. Which is a factor.

Dalton Schultz is making 12 million per year for example.

I really don't care what some random cbs reporter says.

For us, in our situation to pay 10 million dollars a year to a guy that has done nothing much in his career is nuts.

Maybe his best football is ahead of him, but nothing he has done in his career so far warrants a contract of 10 million dollars a year.

Naw its not. See above re: his market rate.

I wanted the Saints to resign JJ.

Dalton Schultz is making 12 million per year.

Total/year:

Pat Freiermuth $48,400,000; $12,100,000
Dalton Schultz $36,000,000; $12,000,000
Noah Fant $21,000,000; $10,500,000

Cry all you want. Karens gotta Karen.

Edited:

Colby Parkinson $22,500,000 $7,500,000
Tyler Higbee $17,000,000 $8,500,000

Parkison had 30 catches for 294

Higbee had 8 for 66 lol.

Both on the Rams.

This board is fricking stuck in 2015 I swear.

Again, especially on a team as cap-fricked as us, who already pays their other TEs a combined cap hit of $22.6M

Who else has a cap impact of $30M/year for TEs?
