Penning has a great demeanor for a Guard, that nasty attitude and run blocking. Moore also loves huge Guards, so it fits. It is the way its going to go imo

is it crazy to say that penning could be better than ruiz pretty soon?

I'm not saying any of that. He came in talented but raw and hasn't proven shite.

We will see

I am. Penning has a much higher run blocking ceiling than ruiz. ruiz has lots of lapses too. he's been better at times but has his bad stretches as well.

Kellen Moore mentioned the success the Eagles saw with Mekhi Becton transitioning to guard last year for the first time, and he did it later in the process. Certainly something that gives the coaching staff confidence in Trevor Penning doing it.

if penning earns a spot on the field, anywhere, i think our O line has an opportunity to be pretty special.

Just like last year, huh?

Introducing a top 10 pick to LT, moving fuaga to a better spot and penning to LG is the same as last year? Last year when we had lg’s getting hurt

You said if Penning was a starter then you had high hopes. He was a starter last year and we were shite. You didn’t mention Banks at all in your post or moving Fuaga

When you have the 32nd ranked roster in the NFL, there is no group that is pretty special.

sorry bud, you need to follow simple context of if penning continues to earn a spot on the line means he's doing well and with the addition of Banks at LT a natural position for him and Fuaga going back to RT which is his natural position... our O Line has a chance to do well for us. Our O Line wasn't bad, it was thin and we had a few injuries that hurt during year.

How many 100 yard rushers did we have last year? Care to guess where we ranked in terms of pressures allowed?

If penning can hit at guard then this line is going to be pretty damn good.

Banks just looks like a lt and fuaga is going to be better at rt.

McCoy has to stay healthy.

How many games together (all 5 starters on the field) did the starting O-line have last year? Hell even the backups were hurt.

Penning wasn't great at tackle, but when all 5 were healthy, the O-line was OK.
Also how many games did we start a rookie QB? They tend to hold the ball longer and take more sacks.

And having guys off the street playing WR that can't get open also makes QB's hold the ball. So I don't know that last year was a fair yardstick to measure the starting OL by.
