Elliss reel

A high school quarterback, Elliss played every linebacker spot at Idaho and even dabbled at tight end, hauling in 10 catches for 176 yards and two touchdowns as a junior and senior.

Wait, was he playing offense in that highlight as well?

My focus isn't the best.

Rob Rang listed Elliss as one of his diamonds in the rough

quote:

Kaden Elliss, 6-2, 238, 4.62, Idaho*

While I believe only two traditional off-ball linebackers (LSU’s Devin White and Michigan’s Devin Bush) are likely to crack the top 32 in the 2019 draft, the depth at this position is encouraging with several of the “other” linebackers listed below worthy of earning this featured position. Each of them, however, were invited to prominent all-star games, the Combine, or both, which Elliss was not despite posting impressive statistics (278 tackles, including 47 for loss, 17 sacks, six forced fumbles and five interceptions), as well as possessing an NFL frame, athleticism and bloodlines. Elliss won’t be the first player on this list to get drafted but make no mistake, he will be drafted. In fact, I believe he will be the first player selected this year who was not invited to the Combine, making him the unofficial captain of this year’s Diamonds in the Rough squad.

Now this is that small school late round diamond. Hopefully this kid can turn into something.

Hard not to like any of our picks:

Potential C of the future (or maybe even now).

New hybrid SS/nickel player and potential Bell replacement if he leaves via FA (or long term nickel if PRob is done and PJ walks after this year).

The safe special teams/depth safety pick that can back up Williams (had no other FSs rostered).

The red flag high potential TE that could turn into a legit receiving threat.

The small school overlooked standout Edge player who has a shite ton of production.

I think they all have a great shot of at least making the roster based on what we had pre draft, unlike last year where we took some people at crowded positions.

Ireland has really been good for us.

Yup. The players, Leonard aside, were obviously good enough to get claimed so the picks weren't bad talent wise.

But yeah they definitely looked like they adjusted a bit and did a little more focused targeting instead of straight bpa.

He grayshirted the 2014 season, and then finished second on the team with 83 tackles (eight for loss, one sack) in 2015. Ellis was an honorable mention All-Sun Belt pick in 2016 after intercepting five passes to lead all FBS linebackers (also 65 tackles, eight for loss). Sun Belt coaches named him second-team all-conference in 2017 (80 tackles, 16 for loss, six sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles) and showed off his athleticism by lining up at wide receiver and tight end (7-156-22.3, two TD). Ellis was a first-team pick in 2018, leading his team with 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks (60 tackles, three pass break-ups). He played some offense, as well (3-20-6.7 receiving).

This stood out to me
