Agility drills were off the charts. His three cone would have been best at the combine for LBers.

This kid is a hard worker and truly a physical freak. NFL bloodlines. Would not be shocked if he’s on the team for a long time.

He grayshirted the 2014 season, and then finished second on the team with 83 tackles (eight for loss, one sack) in 2015. Ellis was an honorable mention All-Sun Belt pick in 2016 after intercepting five passes to lead all FBS linebackers (also 65 tackles, eight for loss). Sun Belt coaches named him second-team all-conference in 2017 (80 tackles, 16 for loss, six sacks, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles) and showed off his athleticism by lining up at wide receiver and tight end (7-156-22.3, two TD). Ellis was a first-team pick in 2018, leading his team with 16 tackles for loss and seven sacks (60 tackles, three pass break-ups). He played some offense, as well (3-20-6.7 receiving).

Listed as 6’3”, 240 lbs. From USA Today. Apparently visited with the Saints.

quote:

Elliss leapt onto the NFL’s collective radar with a dynamic performance at Idaho’s pro day, where he posted a three-cone drill time (6.49 seconds) that would have ranked highest among linebackers at the combine. He also ran well in the 40-yard dash (4.58 seconds) at 6-foot-2, 238 pounds.

quote:

he registered 289 tackles (196 solo) in 47 games over his four-year career. An incredible 47 of those tackles went for loss of yardage. Elliss also produced 16 sacks in his career to go with four interceptions, nine pass deflections, and six forced fumbles (recovering four of them). He was completely dominant against his level of competition.

Son of Luther Elliss, a former 10-year NFL player.

quote:

But despite 278 tackles, 47 of them for loss, to go with 17 career sacks at idaho, he didn't get the postseason opportunities other seniors use to get on the radars of NFL scouts.

Elliss: "You know it was tough not getting an all star game invite or a combine invite, that was tough, and a little surprising, but it was alright, you always trust that god's got a plan for everything."

He produced eye-opening numbers at the University of Utah and Idaho pro days. His three-cone drill and long shuttle times would have been 1st or second among all linebackers that were invited to the combine.

Ok im sold

quote:

a drill in which he simulated coming off a double team and bursting through the adjoining gap, Kaden Elliss moved laterally with startling quickness and got his hands under an individual blocking sled. He raised it as easily as a hoist lifts a car. But instead of simply cutting off it, he flipped it – threw the sled aside as though it was a lawn chair. Twice. Former Vandals teammates and other spectators from the athletics department in the Kibbie Dome stands expressed their appreciation.

“That was pretty fun,” Elliss said

Film on ESPN looked good. Playing for Idaho obviously makes evaluation harder
