Saints Odds to Win the Super Bowl

The Athletic has out odds to win the Super Bowl, and the Saints are 7th overall at 5.1%. Here is a link, but it will probably be behind a paywall.

Here is a screenshot of the odds. Apologies in advance if this doesn’t work as it is the first time I’ve tried to post an image.
I’m kind of surprised at the 7th as I don’t believe the Saints are the 7th best team in the league. At the same time, we did substantially upgrade at QB and are the clear top team in our division. Given a relatively easy path to the playoffs boosts our odds for sure. If you tell me we truly have a 5% chance of winning the SB at this point in the year, I’m signing for that before you finish talking.

After seeing their schedule I could see the Saints being the #1 seed.
Doesn’t mean they are better than the Eagles, 49ers, or Cowboys. They just have the worst division, depth across the board, and the potential to be a top five offense and defense in the NFC.

It was the same thing last year, a lot of potential that didn't pan out, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The defense was really disappointing, but they do have a QB this year, I think. Lol We'll see what Mr. Carr does, he has the talent around him to be good, Rbs, WRs, quality at TE now that they've signed Moreau. The OLine should be improved as well, the defensive line had me a lil worried, but it's come along nicely now with quality depth at DT and DE. Just a lil thin at LBer, but maybe these rookies can step up.

The disappointment was from our DL and safety play IMHO. The sack numbers were elite but they were inconsistent. The safety play was even worse

Here you go OP, this is what I could see before the paywall popped up

I agree, they had a chance to bring back Vonn Bell and passed. Smh They let Ceedy Gardner go which I understand they didn't wanna pay him what he was looking for, but Bell and Gardner at safeties sounds like a dynamic duo. I think the DT play should be much improved this year.

Pretty good odds overall. Other odds like Saints playoff chances are also very decent: LINK
One paper it looks like we are better. Here's the real deal:
Derek Carr is 63-80 as a starting QB. Yea that's with the Raiders but a losing QB seldom has success with another team. Matt Stafford went to a dream team. Carr isn't doing that.
Dennis Allen is 15-38 as a HC. We went 7-10 last year in a shite division. I know we had OLine issues and QB problems but we will have to wait and see.
Losing 3/4 of a starting Line doesn't get better overnight.
Out of the bad teams, I think Raiders are going to make noise this year with Jimmy G.
We might make the playoffs but I'd be surprised if we won a game in them.
I really think we start 0-1 vs Tennessee.
