I had mentioned Gruden as a possibility from the beginning because it makes a lot of sense for both the saints and Jay Gruden if he wants to get back into a HC position in the NFL.

However, he may be damaged goods that is not public. The trouble that caught John Gruden all came from his communications with the Redskins organization and Jay Gruden may be embroiled in all of that since he was the HC. An organization has to be concerned about what the public and player perceptions are whether they are true or not.

Gruden is a damn near elite OC. Him, with Pete on his staff, would be a great hire, assuming we settle on a decent QB
