The New Orleans Saints announced they are moving their 2024 training camp to the University of California, Irvine due to construction of their new cafeteria.

The Saints began renovating their cafeteria and weight room in 2023. The Saints received an F-minus on the NFL Players Association report card in 2023 for their food services/nutrition, which was tied for 30th and ranked in last place in the NFL. They also received an F in 2024 on their food/cafeteria grade, ranking 30th for that year.

"Currently, [owner Gayle Benson] and our organization have invested in the construction of a new cafeteria, that when completed, will be among the finest in the National Football League. The scope of this project makes it difficult to host training camp on-site in 2024, given the extensive needs for our team to prepare for the regular season," Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said in a news release Friday.

The Saints received an A-minus grade for their weight room in 2023 and a B in 2024.

Should take a short drive to Baton Rouge to learn about football facilities

Who has been running this shitshow?

I’ll give you 3 guesses

It ain’t Gayle Benson

Here’s a hint

Sean Payton

You can put lipstick on a pig. Cook and serve them better and more nutritious food.

New Orleans is one of the food capitals of the world, this doesn't make any damn sense.

The cafeteria is a cover. This is so Saints officials can meat with officials in California about moving the team there.

It would be far cheaper to bring in the highest end portable buildings and a kitchen than to move the training camp. The eroding population and economy of the metro area has made long term survival impossible. The fans are here but there is far more money in California.

Like England made most of the world part of its empire to trade spices only to currently have its cuisine mocked as mostly boiled, bland drivel

How can you be in South Louisiana and have an F graded cafeteria?

Part of the grade is teams charging for a third meal.

Moving training camp anywhere is a positive move due to the climate here at that time.
