But maybe they shouldn't have drafted Bush #2 overall? Not sure who's fault that is, though.
this crap needs to stop. we would have been stupid to draft anyone else #2 overall.

true.
aj hawk, vernon davis and d'brickshaw ferguson would look awful in black and gold

Brick would have been a better choice, but Hawk hasn't been good and VD was awful before last season. Plus no way you draft ANY TE #2 overall. The top of that first round was pretty bad.

quote:So your argument is that we can fire Loomis because he listens to Sean Payton's opinion too much.
yes. In regards to player moves. Drafts. free agent signings. trades. etc.
Mickey Loomis DOES NOT KNOW FOOTBALL

what the hell is with the questions? I was pretty clear with what I said.
I was trying to figure out why you want to mess with a front office that seems to be doing pretty well lately, specifically why you would want to mess with it by firing the top guy.
You explained it when you said you've always disliked Loomis. That's pathetic, but at least it's an explanation, much better than claiming it's because of some bad deal he made eight years ago.

The deal will make Smith the third highest-paid defensive end in the NFL, behind Minnesota's Jared Allen and Indianapolis' Dwight Freeney.

i think jeremy shockey, jonathan vilma, and the entire saints o-line looks better in black and gold along with reggie bush.
people act like we picked reggie #1 overall.. and i still don't see why people bitch. be glad we didn't have to draft a vince young.. or matt leinart.
loomis went out at got the qb he wanted when no one else wanted to touch the guy.
to this day there isn't really anyone in the top of that first round i'd rather have. a lot of those dudes have had off the field issues. there are worse first round bust in that draft i'm glad we didn't end up with..

what ever happened with michael huff? he was like 7th overall? i wouldn't even want cutler in that draft. broderick buntley has had fighting issues within teammates. bobby carpenter blows. laurence maroney (no thanks) john mccargo sucks so bad he got traded and indy voided the trade and sent his arse back to buff.
honestly, deangelo williams is the only other running back i'd possibly rather have out of that first round. but he nearly fell to the 2nd round.

because when you get 26 mil guaranteed, you get the money in some way, shape or form.
he's getting paid. Not all deals are black and white.
Loomis tends to do back loaded deals, so his salary prob goes up next year i would assume. or he made a lot of money in 2008. It's going somewhere
Posted on 5/4/10 at 12:10 am to Lester Earl
I'll totally agree with you if Will Smith ever has a season like he did two years ago while under that contract. Though, we did find out that he was playing with a sports hernia(i think thats what it was) so i give him a pass for that bad year.

A lot of teams mostly backload deals, stupid or not. Smith's deal goes up and he'll have to renegotiate, but that's not for another 2 years or so before it gets bad. On the other hand, Henderson and Stinky have really good contracts and Greer may have the best non-rookie bargain contracts in the NFL.

Yeah i remember we thought we were screwed. But we did stiil end up keeping all of our most important players, plus signed Sharper,Greer, and Evans. Then won the Superbowl
I wasnt a big fan of Loomis either. I just cant argue with where the franchise is right now. Whether its Payton thats really the genius behind it all, it doesnt matter to me. They obviously work well together.
Its like the argument over how great a coach Phil Jackson really is considering he's coached some of the all time greats in their primes. In the end, Bulls/Laker fans dont give a shite

Im bumping this because we got so sidetracked:
Great article about the case:
Great article about the case:
quote:
If Payton did receive pills, head trainer Patton told Santini he was “distributed” them despite Payton not having a “painful condition.” But if Payton was indeed “distributed” the pills by Patton, how did the coach acquire the medication improperly?
If Patton thought that Payton did not feel any pain, why did he distribute the coach the pills in the first place? With Vicodin being used as a fairly common, general pain relief medication, how did athletic trainer Patton know the level of pain Payton was experiencing?
The filing answers none of those questions.
The entire basis for Payton being included in Santini’s lawsuit is an athletic trainer giving his medical diagnosis on the pain threshold of the coach. Yet it was the same trainer who (allegedly) reported his own improper “distribution” of pills to Payton!

From Jan 09 on Saints cap issues. Thank god it worked out
Lester, you're flailing around for an argument. You should have just stopped when you said you never liked the guy. At least that was a real reason.

you have reading comprehension problems.
you should really stop picking out my posts and trying to debate with me. because you only end up looking stupid. Especially if you cant even comprehend what I type. Seriously, that has to get old.
